Tressel knew of violations 8 months pryor?

Per Yahoo! Sports

Ohio State coach Jim Tressel was informed that several Buckeyes players were selling memorabilia more than eight months before the school claims it was made aware of the scheme, a two-month Yahoo! Sports investigation has found.

Tressel received information that players were selling items to Edward Rife – the owner of Fine Line Ink Tattoos in Columbus – as early as April 2010, according to a source. However, neither Ohio State nor the NCAA investigated the transactions or the players’ relationship with Rife until December 2010, when the school claims it was informed of the situation by the local United States Attorney’s office.

How much you wanna bet that the NCAA won't even sniff it?

Nice to know that he was informed so far back about this, but do you honestly think anything is gonna happen?

The press in Columbus is reporting this as if it is true Tressel is out the door.  Two of the local 2300 news said this, obviously not siting sources.  The local press, at least at this point, seems to be more than willing to kick Tressel to the curb....if it turns out to have real substance they may circle the wagons to defend him.

Directly lying to an NCAA investigator would almost certainly bring a show cause penalty (this is what everyone expects to happen in the case of Bruce Pearl) which forces the university to justify why they continue to employ the coach to the NCAA. Such a penalty almost always results in firing said coach (with cause).

Providing the investigation is actually true, this will probably not bode well for any appeal to the suspensions.  Hell it sounds more like the dreaded "promoting a culture of non-complience" to me.

1) Shari Lewis is about as tall as those kids are

2) I somehow remembered not only every word, but every part where she says something like "alright, I get the joke!" What the hell is up with that? I'm 21 and haven't seen this since I was 8 years old or earlier. Funny thing, long term memory, especially in the developing stages of the brain... I wouldn't be able to tell you Shari Lewis without googling it (I did), or the parts without hearing them, but I can recall that on hearing it. That song must have been played a lot at preschool or something
