Should allow us to get a good idea on our good our D-Line and our Defense actually is. Should be the matchup to watch going into this weekend.

I don't think there's a need to sellout.  I think the standard press man will work fine, leaving the safeties to fend for themselves in determining run/pass on a per play basis - as always.  Last year it took UW the whole game to take control score wise, and that was against a Michigan offense that was putrid.  As good as their offense may be, I don't think it will move the ball, possess the clock, or make enough first downs to outpace what Harbaugh's offense will do to their average defense.

It won't be an easy win, but I think it will be comfortable enough.  Way more athletes on Michigan's side of the ball...

And predictions suck.

The link will let me pay for a subscription, but won't show me any data.  How about you also tell us where Michigan's OL ranks, along with PSU's OL?

The outcome of the game depends on how our D line holds up to their O line. But the biggest thing I'm looking for is if the team can string together back-to-back good efforts. So far they've had a down, up, down, up tendancy. If that follows they are due for a down performance. But I think they break that trend this Saturday night.

That will play a big part in gaining momentum moving forward.

Serious off topic question - Does Wisconsin, its players, fans or alumni every refer to themselves as "Wisco" or "Wiscy"?  I see both in the current Diary/Message board area and both seem, well, really dumb.  Aren't they just UW if you don't want to spell it out?  Do people refer to our program as  "Michy" elsewhere?  WHO DETERMINES THESE THINGS I ASK.

Most common is The Badgers, UW (or U-dub), Wisconsin or maybe just I went to Madison (to differentiate from other UW schools)  ... "Wiscy" is used but not often, I've personally never heard any Badger fans say Wisco.

- From my personal experience as a ex-resident of Milwaukee and having been up to Madison a few times

"Madison" alone is what's most often used to describe the university (parents, brother, cousins, aunts/uncles are alums and I'm born in Milwaukee).

For sports teams, "Badgers" more often than "Wisconsin".

Literally NOBODY says "Wiscy". Not a soul. (Just like Californians do not say "Cali")

Wisconsinites do say "Wisco", but not in relation to the University/Team, more so just the state generally.

In Wisconsin, all of the state schools are "University of Wisconsin- [BLANK]" so it's a lot more common to just refer to the city (whereas it's unnatural to us to say "I go to Ann Arbor"). (Whitewater, Oshkosh, Milwaukee, Madison, etc. is how students distinguish among their high school friends).

In Michigan it's very different as we have State, Grand Valley and directional schools without one root for everyone. Michigan does have two other small campuses in Flint and Dearborn obviously, but the size is much, much smaller so those are afterthought schools relative to Madison's neighbors in WI.

They key to beating Wisconsin is to get up on them early.  They're a team that does not come back from deficits easily.

The same website also has grades for Big Ten QBs.  I was surprised to see Hornibrook come in at number one, followed by McSorely, Haskins, and Patterson.

Excellent post. This link should be taped/highlighted/stickied. Notice Haskin throwing short passes that go for YAC to pad stats. Shea is the best QB throwing bombs on PA passes per PFF. Again, Haskin's is a good QB and a very dangerous weapon in the OSU systen; still this is an OSU system QB and I haven't seen him make many prostyle throws. I suppose he could be like Patt Mahomes and blow up in NFL. I highly doubt it.
