Tigers vs Indians 8-21-11, 1:05p start time
Ok, slow Sunday, lets see if it can be sparked by a Tigers win.
On the mound: Porcello vs. Jimenez, lets see if Porcello can give a quality start.
The line up:
1. Jackson CF
2. Boesch RF
3. Young LF
4. Cabrera 1B
5. Martinez DH
6. Avila C
7. Peralta SS
8. Betemit 3B
9. Santiago 2B
I don't know baseball so I have no idea what this line up means, I'll let someone else do the analysis so the bashing(the ususal)/praising(the rare) of Leyland. Ready, go.

strikezone way too much this inning. And here comes the hook.

Come on Porcello, you got spotted a 7-0 lead and ended up spotting the Indians 4 runs. WTF.

Time to watch the tigers bullpen get rocked and end up losing this game 8--7...
I change my prediction we lost 9-8

inning. Offense is going to need to score some more runs.
August 21st, 2011 at 2:39 PM ^
We might need 12 runs to win this. Ubaldo's already pushing 80 pitches through 3.

There has to be someone in Toledo that is throwing better than the junk Porcello is delivering across the plate.
and in Below too cause he just BLOWS today.

I was wondering why Jimenez was throwing to first with Young on the base. I guess maybe it was just to waste some time and give the pen a chance to get loose. I don't think Young was going to try to run with the way Cleveland's catcher can throw, especially with Cabrera at bat.
August 21st, 2011 at 2:57 PM ^
have it today either.

All of those walks to the mound must be hard on ol smoky's lungs.

It is raining in Royal Oak
August 21st, 2011 at 3:34 PM ^
I'm gonna be upset if the Tigers blow this game.
August 21st, 2011 at 3:48 PM ^
3rd base. He was clearly safe, and Leyland gets run because he calls out the ump for his bullshit call.

Aggravating tigers game I've watched in a long time.

all be good. A win is win.

Why is Coke pitching in the 8th inning? Is Benoit not available?
August 21st, 2011 at 4:20 PM ^
and Brantley are lefties and Coke has dominated lefties. That's not too hard to figure out.
August 21st, 2011 at 4:21 PM ^
It is hard to figure out when you're following the game on the internet - but your snark is well-appreciated.
August 21st, 2011 at 4:26 PM ^
I would reccommend the ESPN gameday feature if your following it online. It's free and gives some detailed information.

What. A. Throw.

Good thrilling finish to Tigers game
Good sweep

Insane throw. Quoth the Gus Johnson, "ONIONS!"
August 21st, 2011 at 4:59 PM ^
They need to bring that logo back.
August 21st, 2011 at 4:58 PM ^
Play of the Year for the Tigers there. Jackson has electric talent.
The drama almost made the Porcello-induced stress worth it.

"WHAT A THROW!"
August 21st, 2011 at 5:02 PM ^
We ALL saw you Jackson. Not only was that a great throw, but it was also a great play by Avilla to block the plate and hold onto the ball while tagging the runner! Simply, this game (and that play) was HUGE!
August 21st, 2011 at 5:05 PM ^
Hell of a play by Jackson! Crazy game and it's great we pulled out the sweep.
August 21st, 2011 at 5:08 PM ^
Great way to finish a sweep!
August 21st, 2011 at 5:08 PM ^
Give Leyland some credit for the way he handled this series. Nice job Skip.

I agree. He'll do that once in a while. But I don't know how many more times he can continue to play with fire and not get burnt. I thought today was going to be the day he blew one, judging by how the 9th started.

Because I am ridiculously cheap and unwilling to invest in MLB TV, I have to "watch" the games on MLB Gamecast. Even on that lame forum, I had to jump up and say "Holy crap!"
It's games like this one that create some forward momentum that can carry a team a long way (fingers crossed, wood knocked). If Verlander can do the job tomorrow in Tampa, we could be in the middle of a very, very fun stretch.

That's another win to put some spring in everyone's game! Wow!
