Tigers vs Indians 8-21-11, 1:05p start time

Submitted by Mich_Faithful on

Ok, slow Sunday, lets see if it can be sparked by a Tigers win.

On the mound: Porcello vs. Jimenez, lets see if Porcello can give a quality start.

The line up:

1. Jackson  CF

2. Boesch  RF

3. Young  LF

4. Cabrera  1B

5. Martinez  DH

6. Avila  C

7. Peralta  SS

8. Betemit  3B

9. Santiago  2B

I don't know baseball so I have no idea what this line up means, I'll let someone else do the analysis so the bashing(the ususal)/praising(the rare) of Leyland. Ready, go.

There has to be someone in Toledo that is throwing better than the junk Porcello is delivering across the plate.

and in Below too cause he just BLOWS today.

I was wondering why Jimenez was throwing to first with Young on the base. I guess maybe it was just to waste some time and give the pen a chance to get loose. I don't think Young was going to try to run with the way Cleveland's catcher can throw, especially with Cabrera at bat.

Play of the Year for the Tigers there. Jackson has electric talent.

The drama almost made the Porcello-induced stress worth it.

We ALL saw you Jackson. Not only was that a great throw, but it was also a great play by Avilla to block the plate and hold onto the ball while tagging the runner! Simply, this game (and that play) was HUGE!

I agree. He'll do that once in a while. But I don't know how many more times he can continue to play with fire and not get burnt. I thought today was going to be the day he blew one, judging by how the 9th started.

Because I am ridiculously cheap and unwilling to invest in MLB TV, I have to "watch" the games on MLB Gamecast.  Even on that lame forum, I had to jump up and say "Holy crap!"

It's games like this one that create some forward momentum that can carry a team a long way (fingers crossed, wood knocked).  If Verlander can do the job tomorrow in Tampa, we could be in the middle of a very, very fun stretch.
