JJ's deep throws were close. There were timing issues and overthrows early on. Later, the pass misses were just off the fingertips and also some WR not making catches. Finally, everything clicked this afternoon at the Shoe.
Ohio dared JJ to throw by stopping the run but while that worked early on, JJ connected. Once Johnson came down with ball and score the first long TD through the air, the dam broke and the deep throws kept coming and connecting.

Turns out that cover one was perhaps not the best D to dial up today with Corum sitting. Good on JJ for hitting guys who were open. Better for the several big runs he had, and for being tougher than the OSU Charmins on the other side of the ball.

I think the key was letting him keep it those few times. It seemed to get him into the game a bit more and backed OSU off just a bit. Let the O-line assert itself and gave Edwards the space he needed to drive daggers in.
