Texas Cornerback Jalen Green in the Portal

As said in the header. He seems like an instant take if Michigan can get him to come -- Harbaugh recruited him hard before he committed to Texas.

A bit more about him: https://texassports.com/sports/football/roster/jalen-green/9774

Top 50 composite recruit in the class of 2018, has played in almost every game since stepping on campus, but never became a started on the outside and is leaving with Sark in place. Would be great to get him.

Saying that, I'm sure he's somehow going to wind up on OSU.

If that's true, it's a damn shame. If UM doesn't want kids who study sports, it's just one more unnecessary handicap on a program that likes to fight with one hand tied behind its back. Sports is a legit field of study for kids who are good at sports.

1) He did start. 2) Tons of people were surprised he didn’t start this year. 3) He was still on the field a ton as a 3rd CB. 4) He got injured. 5) His class had multiple highly rated DBs as well as him.

I assume this explains it? But here’s a few headlines and quotes to ensure you get the point:

Texas Football: CB Josh Thompson gets surprise start over Jalen Green

And the second bit of jostling news from this depth chart release came in the form of rising redshirt junior defensive back Josh Thompsongetting the start over the likes of Green and redshirt freshman Kenyatta Watson II at one of the corner spots.

Played in 10 games and started seven games.

He would be the highest rated DB on the roster for Michigan by a long shot and he was starting by his sophomore year. He was in the top 50 in recruiting. He has crazy good size at 6’1” and Michigan needs about two more quality DBs and 3 quality DT. So he is easily a take and would probably be the best DB in Ann Arbor the second he got here.

Tyrique Stevenson also recently put his name in the portal as well.

4* CB out of UGA, .9831 24/7 ranking, #3 CB from 2019, #37 prospect overall

He is considered a heavy Miami lean for the record

Every time a kid goes into the transfer portal with a 90 or above on 24/7 from initial recruitment will warrant a post.

This will then lead to much hand wringing later when Michigan "failed" to sign said transfer and/or question of new defensive coordinator's talent evaluation skills.

OTOH, if the player is signed then there will be much hand wringing because the new defensive coordinator "is not confident" in the talent currently on the roster.

Rinse/Repeat.
