Hail Harbo

You can't find anybody in north Texas that has anything good to say about Taco "No Bueno."  Jourdan Lewis, on the other hand, continues to turn heads.  A year ago Dallas brought in a new DB coach and it looked like Lewis would be cut because he's too short and too light.  He wasn't because he wouldn't let them.

Here's an article on Lewis from last month.

Maybe if he wasnt such an underachiever he would play in Dallas. With the Cowboys in win now mode they dont have patience waiting on those great measurables to yield results.

Guy produced for the last half of his senior year and spun that into 1st round money, not a bad set up for the rest of his life.

The issue is simply what is Dallas going to want in return for him.  While D Linemen are always in demand in the NFL I'm not sure Taco is going to command what the Cowboys are allegedly looking to get back in return (2nd/3rd round pick).

His career has been weird - seemingly productive when in the game yet inactive on game day.  Not sure what his issue is but it's pretty clear the Cowboy's have given up on him.

If they're willing to take a 4th/5th round pick for him I'd be all over that deal but as you said they probably want a 2nd/3rd.  Fortunately for Taco they have Robert Quinn coming off suspension soon so they'll want to make room on the roster.  They might let Taco go cheaply just to open a spot.  It would be better than getting nothing for him at all.

I don't know if Charlton is really under-performing, if he's being mis-used in Dallas, or something in between.  But that news article read like it was written by a Dallas PR rep.

I feel like Charlton a bit like I did about Brandon Graham early on with Philly.  He was considered a bit of a disappointment and then turned into an All-Pro.  Not saying that will happen, but Dallas seems like not the best place for every player to mature.

Sure, but Lawrence is on year 6 in Dallas.  His first 2 years weren't spectacular by any means, even though his second year ended on a hot streak in terms of sacks.  His third year he was coming off an injury plus he was suspended and had a bad year, but then bounced back.

I'm not in any way saying Charlton will turn into Lawrence.  But comparing a 6th-year player to a 3rd-year player isn't necessarily fair.

I know a fella named Dallas, and I know how he feels all too well. Every time I go to taco bell I can hardly make it home before them tacos want out.

With a name like 'Taco', playing for 'Americas Team', one would expect him to be a household name by now.

Unfortuantely, he hasn't performed up to his potential - and name.

Sadly this is the NFL these days. Players don't get their way, they ask to be traded.

Loved him as a Wolverine, but the NFL is no joke. Gotta perform son!
