Still #4

Still #4 in Coaches and AP. Some people thought we would drop due to a lackluster performance against Indiana but I think the style points thing is fading in importance.

Michigan probably didn't drop because the SEC teams were playing 1-AA tomato cans and OU gave up 40 to Kansas.  WSU was playing U of A...U of A is terrible.

Interestingly OSU did not move up in the Coaches Poll even though West Virginia lost. I guess their luck win against Maryland didn't inspire confidence.

Maryland missing like 7 starters including the most explosive player in NCAA (Ty Johnson) and starting QB and still made OSU look like garbage on defense ,went a long ways.to people dropping OSU in the polls

If Maryland wins that game,Ohio St would be #20 ,id rather have them top 10 when we destroy em

I said this in another thread but some of the struggles we had yesterday were out of character from our team this year. I think both these polls are taking that into consideration and realize we are still a top 4 team even after the performance yesterday.

You're overthinking this. The vast majority of people who make the polls did not watch the Michigan game yesterday. They saw the score, said to themselves, "Well that's maybe closer than expected but they still won by two scores," and plugged in the same number as last week. That's it. That's one reason why the AP and Coaches polls are a joke.

It all boils down to 3 games - UM v OSU, UM v NW and UGA v Bama.  UM winning those 2 should be enough - especially if they do it convincingly.  UGA has a puncher’s chance by beating Bama, but that won’t happen. Burn down the CFP if UM wins twice and doesn’t make it.

#4 is exceeding most people's expectations.

We get in the playoffs and our defense gives us a fighting chance against anyone.

If they take the rev limiter off Shea, I think our offense has another higher gear as well.

We are still #4 because even a "lackluster" performance against Indiana >> any performance against an FCS team in November.

If it was me, I would drop the entire SEC a spot just for scheduling these games in November.

Maybe voters figure the same thing we do - it only matters if both Michigan and Georgia win the next two games. More than likely, it will sort itself out. Michigan beats Ohio State they'll stay in for the moment, If we don't, it doesn't matter.
Beat Ohio.

Sure, we didn't crush Indiana. But Georgia played a nobody, and Oklahoma struggled with Kansas (!). Those are the only two teams that could have jumped us, and neither made a case to do so.
