Stauskas - #1 Overlooked Matchup Nightmare - Seth Greenberg

Obviously not just a shooter reference included in the write-up:
These matchup nightmares aren’t necessarily an elite scorer, a potential NBA lottery pick or someone who fills up the stat sheet each night. They’re simply the toughest players in college basketball to get ready for. Certain stars are obvious: Kansas’ Joel Embiid, Kentucky’s Julius Randle and Duke’s Jabari Parker come to mind.
But who are some under-the-radar matchup nightmares? Which lesser-known players affect a coach’s preparation more than almost any others? Let’s take a look at the top 10.
1. Nik Stauskas | G | Michigan Wolverines
Key stat: Averaging 22.3 points per game in his past four contests

just to say this is outstanding. made me laugh sitting on my couch, and when my wife questioned why this happened, she had the same response when i told her... you win the internet, indeed.

It's a little distorted, but I think you can still make it out.

Is he really overlooked at this point?
January 29th, 2014 at 9:41 PM ^
He's white and Not Just A Shooter, so he'll always be overlooked.

It is hard to see a white person in the bright lights

Finally realized you were talking about the player White.

Duke, Wisconsin, Texas, Syracuse
I have family that went to all those schools and are big fans, and they constantly text me during Michigan games how strong Stauskas is. He is on a run right now that is incredible.
January 30th, 2014 at 10:43 AM ^
I wish we could have gotten him the ball (more) in the Duke game. They have, by far, done the best job on Nik. I would love to play that game over right now.
January 29th, 2014 at 9:55 PM ^
be interesting to see whether he can keep this up, and (relatedly) whether other teams can figure out how to slow him down. I am looking forward to see what the rest of this crowd can do when he becomes the focal point of our opponents' defensive efforts.

GRIII, LeVert - keys to when/if anyone shuts down Stauskas. I am also loving Walton's development, and as he goes, I see HORGAN going too. So far so good.
Personal question: are you active or Guard SF?
January 29th, 2014 at 10:24 PM ^
active duty paratrooper, was USAR SF when there were two USAR groups. Late 90s they consolidated reserve SF in the ARNG. Got my twenty-year letter longer ago than I'd like to mention.

Thank you for your service. I am an Army brat (dad retired as a leg infantry O7, buried in Arlington Cemetery). Born in Wurzburg, Germany, when dad was in 3ID there.

was just in advance of the guys who did serious hard time, but MGoThanks!

I saw a mock draft that had him at 14th with a quote that an NBA GM would take him over Harris. Needless to say, they're learning.
Quick, everybody talk about how bad Stauskas is!
Good God I am getting sick of Stauskas taking highly contested 18-footers. He is like 3 for his last 50 from the field.

That was the most awful noise I have ever heard. I almost smashed my computer trying to get to the mute button. I award you no points.
January 29th, 2014 at 11:53 PM ^
Is to start playing in black face.
January 30th, 2014 at 1:57 PM ^
Yeah, that's necessary... Just ask Doug McDermott.
January 30th, 2014 at 3:26 AM ^
Stauskas, so hot right now.
January 30th, 2014 at 8:14 AM ^
HAHA! I'm dying here.
