Starting QB prediction thread
I found something really interesting on Twitter. Wolverine Sports Radio, who resident mod LSAClassOf2000 is part of, posted a poll on their twitter on who fans want to start at QB.
As of 8:43pm, it is deadlocked. EVEN at 50-50 with Rudock and Morris at 79 votes each.
Haven't seen an mgoblog prediction thread so...
1) who will start the season opener and why?
2) do you predict that QB will be the starter throughout the entire season. If not, who will take his spot?

Harbaugh has proven he will go for athleticism over experience if he thinks it will pay off. I really don't think we have much to judge Shane on based on his limited opportunity and the whole train wreck that was the offense he has been a part of.
I think Rudock however would have a better season this year if he starts than he did at Iowa. I think he will be surrounded by better talent and coaching this season. Having him here makes me feel better about the downside.
Your point about the defense is a good one. This defense is going to be a very good one and will win games and provide oppotunites for the offense.
I am looking forward to watching it play out.

Rudock already wore Nike at his previous school when he played against Michigan, so advantage Rudock?

No, Iowa unis never look good...

1. I think the best man will start, because he is the best option.
2. I think that the opening day starter will continue to be the starter if he is the best man, if the opening day starter is not the best man then the better man will replace him.

And say the starting quarterback gets married and chooses his back-up to be his #1 groomsman. In that case, would the starter or the second qb be the best man?

you must be a coach or something

as a starter would seem to have an edge in game management under pressure and my prediction to start at Utah. After that Morris could crack the door open particularly if the M offense is lackluster in the Utah game.

The one who will win us more games.
And I could have sworn that we've had like a million of these threads, but I'm old, so...

There was an actual poll less than a month ago. The blog voted 72% Rudock. I'd be interested to see if this has changed, judging by some of the comments.

Rudock has already thrown a touchdown pass to a Michigan player...

At least he's thrown one.

Now that's a stat.

1) Rudock. I believe we brought him here to start. I think the offense is in serious trouble if anyone other than Rudock starts, barring a stunner from a true frosh.
2) Yes. Unless he suffers an injury, I believe Rudock will take every non-garbage time snap and that he will never be seriously pressed by another quarterback.

Zack Gentry will be the starting QB at TE.
August 10th, 2015 at 10:00 PM ^
You could actually run a trick play with Gentry throwing while a TE on the field.

I agree with you, Ruduck is the safe bet, but I just don't think Harbaugh plays it safe.
