I looked and didn't see it anywhere. That's the early line at covers.com. Beat State!

Well, taking a good hard look at MSU's schedule and they've only played 2 teams that are any good (Oregon and Nebraska).  Purdue moved the ball on them, and while they moved the ball on Purdue, Purdue has no defense.  They whooped up on Indiana, but Indiana has no QB's.   Literally.

I think we can make a game out of this.  They're good but they aren't #8 good.   I may be proven horribly wrong on Saturday but I choose to remain optimistic :)

for some weird stuff.

Michigan is a big underdog, there's no point in going out the first series and see if we can run between the tackles into 9 guys in the box.  The days of simply bulling over an inferior MSU are in the rearview mirror.

Example.  Use Gardner at receiver, Morris @ QB, reverse play but Nooo its a throw 75 yards downfield to Funchess.  Perfectly good reason...all the sideways running buys time for the WRs to run down the field, patching up for our weakened OL, Gardner can wildcat it if the lane is open as the DBs are going to be well downfield.  Slightly less crazy...some rollout passes strong side right with Gardner on the field, when they start defending that, lets put in Morris to roll out left and pressure the other side of the field.  No head shots, please.

At this juncture I'd say we are definitely behind the boys in green and white when it comes to manball, but something's wrong in the universe if we don't have the brainpower to concoct some deliciously insane but legal way to make them look foolish.

That said, we can always revert to the time-honored mantra..."play goalline defense the whole game...play the ball and not the man....."

I agree. They need to pull out all the stops. We need to be aggressive, reverses, halfback passes, onside kicks, lots of rollouts, options...deep throws to funch, crossing routes, misdirection plays, etc. we have to be aggressive, take chances, why the hell not?

This is going to be a 21-28 point win for MSU, our defense may keep it from getting entirely out of hand but there's no way our offense puts up more than 10.

Our only hope is to pull a Missouri and score on a kick return, punt return, fumble recovery for a TD, and pick six.

Upset mode. State's defense is not even close to last years level. Shane Morris will throw to Gardner for the winning TD, and Narduzzi will lose it and tackle Devin in the end zone.

some trickeration.  Why not just game plan the main passing attack that has worked the last few years...the drop back, throw it as far and high as you can, and pray?  Think about it...it was Denard's go to throw, to either Roundtree or Hemingway or Gallon.  Gardner has used it with Gallon and Funchess.  State will be like "No way they Hail Mary from their own 20, on 1st and 10 with 14:53 left in the 1st quarter."  And repeat, all day.

Growing up, I had friends whom liked msu. I could never figure out why they cheered for losers. Every few years, msu would win when no one saw it coming. The taunting was insane. Now the tables are turned and we are hoping for a win when no one can see it coming.

I hate this.

Here is hoping for a win when there seems to be no shot... yippee. Thanks Dave.

I wonder what "internal parameters" brandon supposedly has that hes been using, like he said he did regarding RR performance. This is FUCKING PATHETIC.

It really did not matter how the offense lined up. MSU's attacking defense forced the offense to react to the defense, not the other way around. Gardner was either being sacked or throwing up the ball (in general).

That being said, their defense is not last's years defense, but there have been flickers of it. Will that show up this weekend?

five games.  And that against weaker comptetion.  If I was in Vegas I'd bet every dime I had on me that MSU covers.  Gardner will get very beat up and be hobbling by halftime.  If Morris or Bellomy has tro play we're toast.  I believe in the players to give all out effort, but State is so much better.  This will not be pretty.

We don't have anyone that can cover Lippett and Langford and Hill will eventually shread our defense.  Remember PSU is REALLY BAD.

MSU 37, UM 6

EDIT:  BY the fourth qtr we'll be mentally beaten as well.  Adjusted final score: 44-6.

Saturday since I received it and it will most appropriate Saturday night after the curbstomping.  The couches in EL will burn and chants of FI-RE BRAN-DON will begin again.  I see the spread 20.5 by Thursday.

My brain tells me this will be a beat down. My heart wants a miracle. I hope Hoke sleeps in and does not come to the game. We go all in with every crazy play we can think of. We get a TD in every facet of the game. I would love it if we can get one by faking a punt or stuff them on their fake punt and stick it to Dantonio. Please make it happen God. I won't ask for anything, until the last game of the year. Go Blue!

get creative and try some funny plays this game, when they least expect it.  If we are pinned back in our territory, dont be afraid to try some shit...you bet your ass MSU will, they love embarassing us when they get the chance.   I will have zero problem with it if it backfires on us.

See yesterdays Rams, Hawks game.  4th and 10, Rams are backed up and gonig to punt and give the ball back to Russ which would probably end up costing them the game because at that time Russ was balling..they pull a fake and end the game, awesome call...loved every second of it.  They had nothing to lose and either do we.

I will take MSU and lay the points. That way, if it's ugly, at least I'm a richer person. If Michigan keeps it to 2 scores or better, I'm happy with that effort.

I know I'm in the minority, I know we cover vs MSU. Not all that impressed with their team, quite honestly.

If I were still a betting man, I would take MSU all day long at that line. Spartans will probably win this game by 24-28 pts. Under Hoke UM gets up for the rivalry against OSU and plays well, against Sparty...not so much.
