That is a ridiculous Brown.

Good eatin? One doesn't eat bragging rights.

What a hog! Pretty fish too, seems like a lot of fish sure get ugly as they age, but this is a beaut!

Holy crap...that's nuts.

That guy is so jacked it is unreal. Some things are on the astral plane and intertwine well with M football so not that OT. I recommend the newcastle and pomme-frites to go along with the meal. O-ja.

a good protestant beer. Timely recommendation.

What a monster! I recognize that spot on the Manistee too.
September 9th, 2009 at 11:32 PM ^
as in Tangential or Totally OT
Anybody seen the show "River Monsters" on Animaplanit? My 6 year old hooked me on it and ITis the bomb. Not that dude'd be interested in brown trout unless they start eating small children.

a bum knee? and a headset!!? Weis Trout's been hooked!!!

I've fished the Manistee numerous times, and I have never seen a trout anywhere remotely that size. Not saying it isn't possible for browns to get that big, because they can in large bodies of water (a.k.a Lake Michigan), but for that to come out of a river is almost unheard of. It's possible that it is an Atlantic salmon since the two are nearly indistinguishable at that size, and if that's the case I doubt its a record. I suppose its possible though, and I hope it gets weighed in.

The fish has already been weighed in on a certified scale. Has the State and World record broken.

is a good guy and a damned good guide - couldn't happen to a nicer fellow.

Uh, the fish looks like it's at a slightly different resolution (or some other photogrpahy technology star trekkie bullshit word) than the fisherman.
Final Call:
BOOM PHOTOSHOPP'D!

Someone else did describe this thread as "the most off-topic thing I've ever read on this board," and someone else did say "which is pretty impressive when you think about it."

of a conference I was at about 2 years ago.. I'm standing around at lunch with a bunch of colleagues discussing the last presentation and another guy we work with (who looks like a 5'6" Doc Brown) comes up, listens in, and then blurts out 'you know Hitler had some things right too'
I'm pretty sure tumbleweed hit my leg for the next 5 minutes.
