Someone convince me our D will be better next year

We lose at least Graham and Brown. Maybe Warren. Yeah we'll have more experience, but no shut down players. Who will take over for Stevie? Does anyone want Woolfolk and Cissoko/Floyd starting at corner? Our safeties are awful. Will MRob be able to start? I can't take more Williams. Kovacs is giving great effort, but sometimes that isn't enough. So, our offense should be better-we do lose Minor and Brown, but we have good RBs. Our OL should be okay. But I can't see this team winning more than 8 games when the D is so damn bad. Thoughts?

This loss (despite the 35 points) is not on the defense. Our O-Line got man-handled worse than any game last year. Our defense is going to lose our 3 stars but the other guys will have more experience and another year with Barwis. My bigger concern is this offensive regression that has taken place since EMU (less the DSU game). I know you are upset at the big plays on defense today but they played in sudden change all day due to turnovers and "3 and outs"".

-Martin will be a junior, be more experienced, and use some of them hulk muscles. -RVG is an okay player that should be serviceable. Uh... -Will Campbell will have had a full year to work on technique and such and be in the DT rotation. -2 senior LBs...? -Kovac will be just a redshirt sophomore -Craig Roh is looking to be a hell of a player yeah... thats all I got...

Once this offense line gets more athletic next year and Molk healthy, our offense will be good. Tate and Drob will be better. Defense, idk. The linebackers just have to get better. They have been bad all year.

Graham played like a man possessed today, and we will really miss his leadership and motor. While I think Warren will jump to the NFL, I cannot see him being higher than a second round pick, especially considering his lack of elite speed. I think that it will be hard for him to say no given the potentially uncapped year and threat of a rookie salary limit in the next collective bargaining agreement. I am not too peeved about losing Brown, but he's played reasonably well this year. I have to believe that we will have someone who can play reasonably well at that spot. We are dreadful at LB, and I think it is hard to be encouraged given that the coaching staff has been unwilling to play the potential backups this year (Demens, Fitzgerald and Smith). The know their players better than us, so this spells doom if we have to rely on Ezeh and Mouton next year.

I also see turner starting alongside hopefully warren, if not woolfolk. I also think vlad will start in place of kovacs. Remember mike williams is still only 2 years in, so hopefully he gets better. Isiah Bell should take stevies spot, if not hopefully Marvin turns out to be a stud. As for who replaces Brandon, hopefully lalota? I dont know im just trying to keep posotive after that hoffific game we just played..

do you remember how bad Florida was on Defense in 2007? They showed that a D can make a huge one year improvement with a little experience. Not saying this will be our end result next year, but on defense, just like along an experienced offensive line, there's always hope for improvement year-to-year.

We lose a couple of stars, but almost everyone else comes back, including the defensive coordinator. Continuity and experience will help, a lot.
