Nothing beats the Nuggets / Jazz series (can't believe I'm saying that). Murray and Mitchell all of a sudden look like the two best guards in the league.

I watched game 5 and it was miserable for the entire first half. The Jazz were winning and going to close out the series and the Nuggets were basically playing like they didn’t care. Nikola Jocik went something like 8 for 8 in the 1st quarter and then stayed pretty steady for the 2nd quarter. He seemed to be the only Nuggets player that cared. Almost every other player on the court seemed to be going through the motions and throwing up terrible shots. The second half came on and Murray just started pouring in points.

How did the Jazz respond to this? Continually letting Murray take just about every shot he wanted. I’m pretty sure it was some of the worst team basketball I’ve watched in a very long time. But Murray and Mitchell were putting points up. I would have been embarrassed for Murray if he didn’t, because the Jazz were basically letting him do whatever he wanted. I didn’t watch game 6, but I can only imagine if it was like game 5 at all that defense wasn’t being played very well.

I watch guys like Lillard put up 50, with great defense played against him. Luka put up 40+ and had to work for it. Kawhi works for a lot of his buckets. Bron and Davis too. But it was like the Nuggets and Jazz were just watching Murray and Mitchell go at it and forgot they also were supposed to be playing. It wasn’t like Murray was ISOing either, they were just playing terrible team defense.

Bud coached a really bad game. Bucks biggest advantage is their size. Miami has no answer for Giannis/Lopez as roll-men/post up options. Instead Giannis pretends he’s a guard for the great majority of the game.

Bucks were extremely lucky Middleton hit a ton of contested jumpers in the 1st half or this is a 20 point game.

Bucks made 16 triples on 46% and were thoroughly outplayed. Layups/dunks + FTs are the most valuable shots in basketball despite the perimeter shooting narrative.

Is the NBA that organization where people become multi millionaires based largely on the labor of exploited foreign workers making $0.20/hour who like to talk about oppression here?
