Snowflakes-Recruiting

While coaching and playcalling are responsible for about 60 percent of our woes, the failure to take a single DT in the 2018 class is a major red flag for our coaching staff. It is hard to match up against top tier teams with your best option being a converted fullback and true freshmen on the line. Two out of the past three recruiting classes are going to finish outside of the top 10. 2018 was ranked # 22 and 2020 could finish outside of the top 15 considering the fact that we are nearly full and teams will jump us this winter. We didn't replace Wheatley when he left and now it looks like we didn't do a very good job replacing Al Washington and Mattison on the trail.

HMMMM ....do you think Greg Mattison knew something?

”This is the most microphones I have ever seen in my life,” he said while being interviewed after the OSU point explosion yesterday.

He said he can’t wait to get all the starters back when they are fully healthy and the team will be much stronger because of all the playing time the freshmen are getting now filling in....

Look at,  and listen to the atmosphere of the Georgia game.  Crowd is nuts,  stadium lights go on and off,  crowd engaged.  The team feeds off that.  There's no excitement inside Michigan stadium.  Why would top recruits want to play there?

You are correct.  I live in Texas. But you clearly don't watch the Ohio state games in ann arbor. Too much red and louder fans than Michigan.  There is not a home field advantage in Michigan as there is in too many other places around the country.

We replaced Wheatley at RB coach with a guy who never played a down of college football or running back period for that matter and had no real staff jobs anywhere unless it was for family.

I'm sure Najee Harris was chomping at the bit to play for him. But no, I was shit on years ago for questioning him replacing someone who knows what the fuck they're doing with the opposite.

Hopefully they can salvage something from the season and prevent some of the nicer pieces of the current class from defecting.

Harbaugh is the type of coach who needs elite talent to have success.  He’s in year five with his recruits and the last five games with his recruits have been a disaster.

A team like Wisconsin can do more with less because Wisconsin has time to develop players.  So far this season, Michigan’s best player on offense is Ronnie Bell who is three years away from being a backup for OSU.  Also, you have Mayfield and Hayes starting when they have no business seeing the field at this time in their careers.  Too many 3-stars are forced to play because there’s no other options.   Need more time to develop players.

The recruiting has been average since Harbaugh has arrived.  The top 10 classes have been quantity not quality.

By the way, OSU has recruited the top receiver out of Texas the last two years.  Harbaugh is recruiting Paw Paw, MI.

Go watch the talent at Georgia compared to our talent. It is laughable how far the gap has widened. That’s reason #1 we cannot beat Ohio State or any ranked team (with a pulse) on the road.

We distinctly lacked talent on the defensive and offensive lines compared to Wisconsin.  Our LB's were poor and our lack of talent depth at RB was clear.

Michigan fans are a bit delusional about our level of talent.  Some talent, yes, but not everywhere and not nearly enough of it that should have been evident today.

But Ben Mason has a Mohawk and screams and converted first downs that any competent fullback could last year.  You mean he isn’t an elite talent?  You mean an three star with huge numbers in the New Mexico peewee league isn’t a difference maker?  Bullshit, you star gazer.

We should have hired Mike Hart for our running back coach. He loves Michigan. I think he would be an awesome recruiter. But no let’s give that job to my son Jay. I never liked that when Harbaugh put him there.
