- Josh Uche

Watson, another defensive back turned SAM. Brown really values speed and athleticism at the position over size. In his system, it really seems to pay off.

all else equal, speed > size at most positions on D

That's great, but I don't want a DE weighing 178, regardless of how fast he is.
September 6th, 2016 at 9:41 PM ^
Maybe your ideal DE is 240 lbs and runs a 4.5. If he were 175 he'd have to run like a 3.5 to be worth the weight loss factor.

Adidas is not flattering.

Many former UM coaches would be uncomfortable with this idea. It was often cited as one of RichRod's principal mistakes. (For some reason, the real and obvious ones were often overlooked.)

You need size and speed. Rich Rod knew how to coach but the divisive elements in the "Michigan" community sabotaged his recruiting, so he didn't have as much size as you need. Hoke recruited extremely well but couldn't really coach or develop anyone very well so it didn't matter.
With Harbaugh, we have someone who recruits well, has the entire Miichigan community behind him and develops players better than anyone in the game. Be happy. Look forward, not backward.

as he did his Offense he may have lasted a few more years. But then again, IF my Aunt got a sex change, I would still be as creeped out as I would if my uncle did it. Or something like that ...... ; )

I mean, it was pretty obvious that he didn't understand major programs (at the least) when he said about his first season here, "I thought this was Michigan... you just roll them out, you'll win your share."
(People say that quote was taken out of context. I've never seen this purported context; I also think Wojo would have provided it in the article where he ran with that quote.)

Rich Rod doesn't coach. He teaches plays, he doesn't teach how to play. He relies on the athletic ability of his players to out-perform the opponent. But only on offense, he doesn't care about defense one bit. He does have some really nice plays, and teaches them well. But that's not coaching, per se...

For as much as we bash Tresselball he was in a way ahead of his time by putting QBs like Troy Smith and Terrelle Pryor at the helm of what was otherwise a "pro-style" offense.

Gotta believe the slb backups are just keeping the spot warm for Hudson. He seems like another Peppers (or as close as non-super humans get) at that spot.
September 6th, 2016 at 7:30 PM ^
I'd agree if we had any safeties. He seems made for that spot but someone has play safety and he seems best fit to fill that... Or maybe you could move Watson to safety and Hudson up.

I think Watson is a CB. It was mentioned that he should move to safety over the summer but people who know more to me basically said that would be a bad idea b/c Watson is not a good fit at safety.

it was Harvin who did the damage. 13 carries for 165 yds and 9 receptions for 77 yds. They held Tebow in check, 16 carries for 57 yds. A couple of Florida's scoring drives were really short: one was 3 plays over 29 yds and another was 5 plays over 34 yds.

I agree to a point, but Evans and McDoom will not cause MSU to call two consecutive timeouts when they take the field out of sheer terror.

AT 5'11 and over 200 lb, Watson would be a stout corner. Glad to see him move positions to somewhere where he can hopefully see the field during his UM career.
Not sure if he ever had the quickness to be an effective corbner.
