Signing of the Stars Ticket Scam Update
I just wanted to personally thank Maizen and GoBlue2323 and the rest of you that captured screen shots of the SoS ticket orders and sent them to me. They were easily identified and the barcodes were deactivated and reissued to Wolverine fans. By the way, it wasn't as bad as they tried to make it sound. Nobody was able to get thousands of tickets. It was only one ore two users for a couple of hundred tickets. The Athletic Ticket Office took care of it this morning. So, to the bad guys.....good plan....horrible OPSEC! We have the last laugh. Your tickets are null and void.

As mentioned in earlier post, they lost the element of surprise. Drunk Buckeye fans couldn't keep the secret to themselves.

ruining an event that raises money for charity is another

If they bought tickets, what exactly did they ruin? Is there some Ohio exchange rate that I am unaware of?

Tickets are free. No individual paid money for hundreds of tickets just to not use them.

... then we'll learn what really goes on there. This won't go on forever. This was an unimaginative prank that was allowed to happen due to Michigan's athletic department's complete lack of foresight. There should be some kind of cost (or money that goes to a designated charity) associated with the procurement of a ticket (UM students could get a free ticket with their ID and sent electronically to their UM e-mail). This was all on an athletic department of a university that prides itself on being a "public Ivy" being outsmarted by a couple of dimwitted, truck-driving fans of a rival university.

They could have charged $5-10 for each ticket and given the proceeds to ChadTough, but I'm guessing they realized it would raise a lot more money if they just encouraged a donation. For every few people who donated just a few dollars or nothing for each ticket, there would likely be others who would donate $20-100. Maybe in the future they will charge a fee, but it really sucks that it would have to come to that and likely be less money donated to charity.

would have given them away anyway.

makes OSU look petty and very little-brotherish. What does it say about a school, and a mindset, where the worst of all possible outcomes in their lives might be that they aren't sure to win a football game... and even more horrifying, that the competition looks good.

When you become obsessed with something and it becomes your whole life, there is going to be a very scared and desperate individual. Add on top of that, there are tens of thousands of them in the state of Ohio who are just that. You have to understand now how miserable they once were for a very long time and will do whatever to not go back to that dark place. It's too bad for them because the harder you cling to something and become crazy over it, the more it escapes you. That's why I say that everything burns baby!!
