Sure seems that this goes way beyond Nasser, or even just athletes. A student waiting 117 days for a ruling on her accusation of sexual assault against an instructor? Students unable to even get appointments with rape crisis counselors, or getting turned away from a rape hotline? This is jiust really ugly stuff. Wrap together Nasser, the Izzo (Walton, Paine + Appling), Dantonio (4 rapes last year alone, plus the other stories coming out), and what appears to be a similar attitude about sexual violence across the entire campus, and this is just really bad.

The process of change cannot begin until a person accepts responsibility. This is one of the difficult challenges of growth. In order to grow, a person must accept responsibility for what they have done to contribute to where they are at in life. If they have no responsibility, then they have little ability to change.

It's too bad if you're a victim at a university like PSU, Baylor or MSU, because the NCAA only supports the kind of environment that leads to this level of cover up.  I can't imagine what would vontinue to happen without good journalism or united victims courageously telling their stories.  If this society isn't careful we'll lose even that, since if you don't like the accurate, well sourced reporting you can just label it fake and put out a propaganda laden counter narrative.  How many victims or stories does it take to make the most biased believe?  My fear is that this will get ugly as people will have their characters attacked and coaches with too much to lose will claim they didn't have all the information.  It's just too bad integrity and accountability and honor and truth don't mean a damn thing to people who care only about power and winning.

Ok, what person or group of people will make this decision over the fates of Dantonio and Izzo? Board of Regents? MSU President? athletic Director? And what about criminal charges?
