SI article about OSU expected Tues at noon
Back in the wild west, gun fights were always at high noon.
for OSU
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed plugging that into my calendar (with a time!). Highly recommended.
Did you even go to U of M ? Well, if you did, surely you wouldn't be gloating about this... because OSU is the yang to our yin.... the greatest rivalry in sports requires a strong equal. Off the record, I want OSU to beat every team, and then lose to us, year after year after year.
However, most of the crowd here seems to be either the lowest rung of the alumni, or Wal-Mart wolverines, who went to to the likes of Western or a community college.
And you are?
Not a real fan now please take your ball and go home.
Sissy
Wow its jackasses like you who sometimes make me glad that I didn't go to U of M. Now I've got to go to Walmart and pick up some more MICH gear.
FTR go fuck yourself.
Yeah, and a rivalry where one side cheats at will and creates an uneven playing field is really great.
Time to dismount that high horse and get over yourself.
This from a UM alum and varsity letterman.
Did you ever get that feeling?
And for the record, I am not pompous enough to try to define Michigan Fandom for everyone else. That kind of hubris would make me look like an unbridled jackass. But if I DID, I would imagine that attempting to define others as "the lowest rung of the alumni, or Wal-Mart wolverines," would be one of the surest signs that we don't want you.
You're making the rest of us look bad. Stop it.
Sincerely,
Blue in South Bend

(Engin '90) I heartily throw my full support behind your position.
By the way, that LS&A degree must have taught you a thing or two about composition, because you're a fine writer.
Us folks with that there LSA degree can write real good!

Us folks with that there LSA degree canwriteright real good!
There. All better. Didn't want you to miss a meme.
*right real good.
EDIT: Damn, Engineering school made you pretty quick on the draw. Well played.
And us LSA grads who are too old to remember what day it is agree with you too.

Sorry that I went into aviation and Western had one of the best aviation programs in the country. I should stop being a "Wal-mart Wolverine" right away...
How is that pedestal? All I and anyone asks for is a level playing field. seeing Ohio state get nailed will bring sort of a satisfaction similar to one receives when Microsoft got nailed in their monopoly trial.

This is coming from a Michigan alum. You might want to tone down the ad hominem attacks towards your fellow wolverines.
I have two degrees from the University of Michigan.
I will derive a good deal of satisfaction if this thoroughly corrupt version of the Ohio State football program get what it deserves from the NCAA.
I believe that a strong and clean OSU football program is absolutely in the University of Michigan's best football interests, because our rivalry has been defined by titanic struggles between two top-echelon teams year after year.
None of these are mutually exclusive, a point that you appear to have missed.
Welcome to the Lowest Rung of the Alumni Association. We're having T-shirts made. That is, if a certain poster allows us to wear maize and blue.
FIRE DON ROD
FIRE BLUE IN SOUTH BEND ROD
See you dudes at Wal-mart
I'd buy it and wear it proudly.
...new T-shirt idea:

It can be a star wars themes t shirt. Mgoblog: a coven home of slime and villany.
One for the OER Shoe.
In the old days, this comment would have received at least 75 up votes.
one of the things about Michigan is that, unlike Ohio State, we have lots of rivals. MIchigan State and Notre Dame are also big rivals, not to mention the others, so we don't just focus on Ohio State. The Ohio State rivalry has become more of an issue for us recently because our record against Ohio State has been bad (to put it mildly). Since (including) 2003, we've been 1- 7 vs. OSU, 3-5 vs. MSU, and 5-3 vs. ND. (Looking up those numbers was depressing).
When I was at Michigan (1993-1996), we dominated Ohio State (3-1 over those years). The '93 game was amazing. The score was 28-0 and it wasn't even as close as the score indicated. I can't find a box score, but we ran for a million yards on Ohio State, it was sick. That Ohio State team was really good, too.
Oh, I miss the Cooper years.
Isn't right is it? We won seven in a row and they've won the last three (still depressing I know) so shouldn't it be 5-3?

Seriously? This is the kind of arrogance that I was afraid of when I decided to go to Michigan. If these so called "Walmart Wolverines" have stuck with us through the past 4 years, I think they deserve to be called Michigan fans.
Walmart Wolverines and lower tier alumni....psh fuck you
You managed to sound like an annoying MSU fan and what they criticize all at once. Nicely done.
Congrats, asshat: you've become Sparty. You've just proved to us your lack of intelligence and culture, and if you went to my school as you imply, I'm ashamed. Go polish your monocle somewhere else.

You jackass...in Canada we have to order the gear in...it's not even as easy as going to WalMart USA.
Tjhe likes of Western or Community College you say? You apologize right now, idiot, people with degrees from the University of Western Ontario don't deserve your insults.
Get off it.
Did you mean to say, "For the record..."? I'm not sure why your view on tsio's winning pattern would need to go, "Off the record..."
don't tell people you're a Michigan Alum. You make the rest of us tolerant, unprejudiced, well grounded fans without poles up our asses look bad.
What do Fielding Yost, Fritz Crisler, Bo Schembechler, Gary Moeller, Lloyd Carr and Brady Hoke have in common with every "Wal-Mart Wolverine"? None of them have a Michigan degree. I welcome each and every person who wishes to root for my alma mater no matter what their association with the University is. Non-alumni fans are a blessing and an asset to the program.
is very well said and the exact reason why we need unlimited upvotes.
...accurate. Bo Schembechler earned an Honorary Doctorate of Laws in 2005. I would not be surprised to see Lloyd Carr honored similarly in the coming years.
Good point nonetheless.
Why we wouldn't welcome rather than look down upon non-alums who love the Maize and Blue is beyond me.
I'm sure there are tons of people who cheer for top-tier schools in SEC country and elsewhere who never get asked if they actually went to the school they cheer for.
those morons in EL or CBus use the term Walmart Wolverine... Where the hell do you get off talking down to anyone because they may or may not have gone to university they root for? Stop being an arrogant pretentious ass.
And I'm so tired of people looking down people who attend/attended Junior College, what's so plebian about getting your Gen-Eds out of the way for half the price? I'd argue some Junior Colleges are better than some 4-year schools. Not that it matters, when you graduate from said 4-year school your degree doesn't say "BTW, attended Junior College for the first two years".
but I will bet you I have as much, probably more, passion for Michigan athletics than you or anyone who has gone to the school. I've been watching Michigan since I was 8 years old. I'm that means I'm at 16 years watching now, compared to a lot of students who probably become fans when they attend Michigan.
Wal-Mart Wolverine? Oh, good fucking one. I bought my #16 jersey at the MDen, AT MICHIGAN STADIUM, after the Big Chill, which I purchased tickets to.
The lowest rung of Michigan fans is people like you, who like Michigan but act like Spartans.
Get the fuck off my (well Brian's) blog if you got a problem with me or anyone else here.
and as far as I'm concerned if you love the Maize and Blue and hate the scarlet and gray, as well as the green and white, you're in the family.
Seriously, with so many people out there who hate us, why wouldn't we be grateful for anyone who loves Michigan and cheers when they win?
1 - Michigania sounds like an idiot
2 - If a non-alumni UofM fan is considered a "Wal Mart Wolverine" to Sparty (and apparently some other idiots) then what would a non-alumni Sparty fan be called? I assume there are a couple non alumni Sparty's that exist. "Wal Mart Spartan"? This is a serious question.
a Wal-Mart Wolverine, I usually say "shut up you Save-A-Lot Sparty"
They already have their own chain!
