Shane Morris accepts Under Armour Invitation and Ty Isaac plans a trip
Shane Morris has accepted an invitation to play quarterback at the 2013 Under Armour All American game. He was the first player in the entire country to be invited the the event. Remember that mega-class that Zeke Pike teased us with?(that we got anyway) Well I'm sure Shane Morris will make that a priority judging by the efforts he's already put into the 2012 class.
The Link is paywalled, so sorry in advance.
And...
Per Josh Helmholdt, Class of 2013 RB, Ty Isaac, will be visiting Michigan this weekend.

Notre Dame will be there too, despite the USC transfer they recently pulled. His offer sheet will likely blow up too in the future. We'll be there at the end, but I am not so sure it's a slam dunk.
EDIT: Half hour later, via the TomVH chat:
Isaac is very interested in Michigan, and I would guess he's also interested in Notre Dame and Wisconsin as of right now. I think Michigan has a really good shot with him, it's not by any means a slam dunk, but they have a good shot for sure.

No doubt the kid will be a 5 star. Congrats to him, he's earned it.

can he also be invited for the army game? I havn't watched these games before this year but it appeared as if more prestige was put towards the army game. But being invited to either is a tremendous honor

I believe he was invited to both or knew he would be and still chose the Under Armour game.

He seemed to have his pick of which one to attend.

paywalled, but the teaser info. mentions he was invited to both

It's also a huge honor to be the first kid in the entire 2013 class to be invited. I doubt that was the case for the Army game.

If you want more exposure and a better ranking on ESPN, and prefer Orlando to San Antonio, you choose the UA Bowl.
If you want to play in the historically more prestigeous bowl, play in the AAA game.
If it were me, I would want to go to the AAA game more but the ESPN UA game is probably a better strategic move if you want more coverage coming out of high school...

He tweeted that he was going to watch both games before he decided which one he would attend. A couple of people responded that he should wait and choose the one that gets the best receivers; then a recruiting guy from ESPN responded that he should choose the one with the best O-Linemen.
He ultimately said that he and his family decided it would be best to go to the Under Armor Game. Since he mentioned his family, I assume location was a big consideration. Orlando is a nicer family vacation spot than San Antonio.

Does he have any Sparties in his family? Maybe they're planning to make a family trip out of it. You know, catch the Saprtans in the Champs Sports Bowl, spend Christmas at Disney and then hit the UA game after New Years.

Hopefully Morris can convince Robert Foster to join him.

...Morris said its best for his family to be in this game and not the Army game.
That confused me. Is the game closer to home or something?

He mentioned him mom was bugging him about going to Florida.

Should be a lock for the top QB ranking spot for ESPN now. Participating in the UA game equals ESPN rating boost.

Which would explain why Rivals gave 5-stars to 2 quarterbacks ahead of Shane.

Also he committed to Michigan early. Big faux pas in the recruiting world.

I think the talent gap is narrowing and really should be treated equally. Last year Clowney was considered the best prospect of the rivals era (last 10 years) and he played in the UA game. The army game has just been around longer.

Warning: I'm a big travel dork (I like planning and going on trips).
DTW (Detroit Metro) is a Delta hub;
There is one direct flight to San Antonio daily, 10AM.
There are six direct flights to Orlando.
Delta's calendar only goes out to December right now, so I chose a Tues-Sun in October (after Thanksgiving, before X-mas is typically a shoulder season and thus artificially cheap).
DTW-SAT (San Antonio): $550 pp RT.
DTW-MCO (Orlando): $223 pp RT.
I don't know how these camp/games work, but I am assuming that transportation for the family is not included. $300 pp difference isn't anything to sneeze at. With the billion hotel/rental/timeshare rooms in the greater Orlando area due to Disney/Universal/etc., would hazard to guess that the hotel rooms would be much cheaper as well.

do you ever post on milepoint or flyertalk? I'm gobluetwo on those boards. I mostly travel for work, but those boards are filled with travel geeks.

is Morris a potential return on everything that Drew Henson once promised us? I hope so been waiting on a qb like this for quite a while
