Scruggs contacted as potential DL coach

From Sam Webb (I know, I know, people are down on the Michigan insiders right now).

Supposedly Moore has contacted Fickell about lifting Scruggs from Wisconsin.

From what I've heard about him, sounds like he's a good coach and a decent recruiter.

That's a sherrone guy.  I'll guess the lb and DB coaches are gonna be wink guys.

Over on the edge of internet they're saying Jaden Smith is out of the class. Sucks because he looks good.

They're also saying Milroe to Michigan rumors are picking up.

I think Webb has been spot on. He said from the outset that Harbaugh would go hard after Herbert, Jay and Minter were gone, and Elston and Clink were probably gone unless something drastic changed. That's the way it ended up, with the exception of Clink flip-flopping after telling the team he was coming back. Ended up with the originally projected outcome.

Sam hasn't necessarily been wrong, he's just been saying things people didn't want to hear.

Like, he reported Clink had told the team he was staying - which apparently was right - but then also I believe was 1st to say Clink had a change of plans.

People are very into shooting the messenger right now!

Yes, absolutely there is such a thing. I don't think it's all about the bag as a lot of people do. Yes, money is great but it's not everything to everyone.

I'm sure NIL has been a deciding factor for a lot of kids when all else is equal (Bryce Underwood?) but if you cannot connect with these kids and just expect to throw cash at them you're not gonna end up doing well in the long run.

Just ask A&M how the bag strategy works.

ha, small world! At a church event yesterday Coach Scruggs was the keynote speaker (https://stsusanna.org/superbowlsaturday/). I was also a speaker, so spent quite some time with him... he was absolutely fantastic. From beginning to end, everything about him was standup. After his talk I would have run through a brick wall if he had asked. I'm going to be rooting for him wherever he is, and if that's at Michigan, it's a whole lot easier.
