Saturday Noon Game Thread

This is an awful slate of games - I am mostly watching West Virginia v Maryland.  OSU v Kent State is really the only other one of any basic interest.

I thought this line on WVA v Maryland was strange (3) when they held in very well versus Alabama and Maryland looked like... well a Big 10 team, thus far.  West Virginia's WRs were awful vs Bama - if they could catch the ball they might have won the game.  If this was in Morgantown I'd take WVA by 17 or so.

Sounds like Maryland has benched its QB and is on QB #2.  Not sure those NFL WRs at Maryland are going to have a chance to showcase their wares this year the way things are going.

Was that a weird way to play numbers a bit on defense? Was Maryland saying, "We know we can stop them, but what harm does an offside call on 4th and 1 do anyway?" No matter, West Virginia plugs away for another series, I suppose.

...and suddenly some actual opportunistic play from Maryland's secondary. Very odd.

How did VT beat OSU last week?

They are dreadful at home against ECU.

Maybe we can get Beamer to coach our away games and Hoke their home games.

My question is how good is OSU's d-line? I realize transitive property doesn't always work, but their d-line was supposed to be their strength and didn't do much last week, but this week ECU's d-line just seems to be dominating Va Tech's o-line.

Football is weird.

had that ball hit a Terp instead of the WVA player, WVA could have advanced the ball for a TD.  They need to look at those rules, seems to me the fair catch is off if it first hits a player from the kicking team.

Strangest play of the day so far, courtesy of BTN and SBNation. I can confirm that this is indeed a valid call for a fair catch and an interference penalty per the rules (after a few sessions of read, then watch, then read again).
