Sam Webb has a "gut feeling" about ANOTHER recruit.
On WTKA this morning, Sam Webb said he had a "gut feeling" about NC DE/DT Darian Roseboro. While he's claimed that Roseboro has been trending blue for a while, I'm pretty sure this is the first time he busted out the big label.
You can hear for yourself on WTKA's podcasts. It's Segment 3 at around 5:40.
There's lots of time and nothing is set in stone. The coaches must, as always, recruit to the bell. But this bodes well.

You are going to stay buckled for couple weeks unless he has changed his plans to announce on the 29th.
To look forward to the 29th! I get to leave Afghanistan (hopefully for the last time) AND we pull in another top recruit. Thats going to be a great day....

Here's the link to the podcast mentioned by the OP - (LINK). Hopefully, the link straight through to StationCaster works.
As I recall, one of the things Roseboro talked about a lot during his visit was the family atmosphere and how the coaches simply acted as they were and didn't try to "sell themselves" ("down to Earth" was another phrase used, I believe). Indeed, I believe he even met the wives of a few coaches as well as most of the football staff, which if his DetNews interview was any indication, he found quite refreshing.

Are you sure that isn't a butt feeling?

Very astute observation hombre

And Michigan has a 2016 4 star RB from Southfield, Matt Falcon visiting today. Hasn't been offered yet but holds an ohio offer. He tweeted he was visiting about 15 minutes after the Weber commitment.
Wouldn't be surprised to see him offered today.
All your recruits are belong to us.

Matt Falcon, he can fly........
August 7th, 2014 at 12:39 PM ^
as well.
Blue Falcon in the military is a pseudonym for "Buddy Fucker" referring to someone who screws over other soldiers for their own benefit. Just FYI.

and b/c i'm asian and engrish and all that, the meme is:
All your <singular noun> are belong to us.
Kills me when I see something like "All your recruits belong to us muahaha". At least you didn't do that....
The first one I had to ask the board to explain to me was the, "Who is Mike Jones" meme. You never forget your first.

That's excellent news. I wonder if this sudden momentum will spur some other recruits to join in?

I think it is more there are only so many slots left. If you want in you have maybe 5-6 openings (?) left and with the ex UF DB and Roseboro that is probably 2 of those slots taken. Another would be an OLB somewhere.
Realistically, we have a chance at:
- OLB Osa Masina
- OLB Keisean Lucier-South
- OLB Asmar Bilal
- DE Darian Roseboro
- DE Jalen Bates
- CB Marcus Lewis
- TE Tyrone Wheatley
I don't know how they'd all fit. In fact, I'm sure they wouldn't all fit. Hoke is going to have to do something and find some way to make it work. With 10 recruits already committed, I only see spots for three more right now. Given normal attrition, you could add another three by Signing Day. Still, you have to have several guys drop, and that still wouldn't leave enough room.
I guess the question I have is the position: are Masina, KLS, and Bilal all really OLB? And more than that, how many OLB do we need? And Roseboro and Bates DE? That seems an area where we do really need more bodies. And lastly, what about the OL? Are we really ok with just two? I guess given the debacle at the OL caused under RR, I get really nervous without at least 3 guys every year on the OL.
he may be able to play OLB for a 3-4 team but at Michigan he's a weakside end and nothing else.
The coaches seeming want both him and Roseboro (SDE) for ends. Getting both would eliminate Bates, and quite possible Wheatley who is a TE/DE in high school now.
They'd take 1 of Bilal or Masina. Strongly apperas to be Bilal if any right now.
Marcus Lewis is a want, along with Mook Reynolds but Lewis seems in decent standing to get that CB spot if he wants it. I think they'd call it at those 4 if they got them.
I don't think OL is a priority anymore. They have 2 decent targets still left out there that I think they'd take if possible, but would be fine with the 2 we have. Only 2 OL may not seem like many, but that puts it at like 16 for the 4 year cycle and with redshirts, that's doing just fine.
So, right now would you predict:
- WDE KLS
- SDE Roseboro
- TE Wheatley (if there's room)
- OLB Bilal
- CB Marcus Lewis?
If that's how the rest of the close played out, you couldn't ask for more. And I suppose if there was room for one more after that, they could focus on the best available player, regardless of position. What an incredible place to be in terms of recruiting.
Great point. I think on the OL, it would be nice to have another but given the number of high quality guys you listed, Hoke should only take a highly-regarded OL and I am not sure we are in on that many right now (correct me if I am missing someone). Given that, I would rather pick up a Wheatley or KLS rather than a mediocre OL.

that he should play for Michigan
a gut....... Damn you barley and hops!

This is shaping up to be a great class given the limited shcolarships available. If you look at average rating alone on 247, we're only behind Alabama and USC.
Over the years Sam's gut feelings are almost always right.

Are we in on Pettaway at all for '16 RBs?
I think I read somewhere Falcon had a quite serious injury but I could be mixing him up with someone; he has great size at 6'1 215 lbs.
Roseboro definitely seems the next to fall. Not sure his visit schedule but we are 3 weeks away from his announcement date and it would seem something very serious would have to go awry to lose him now.

Obviously, things can change, but he's been high on MSU from the start and has named them his leader. There are a lot of good backs in the midwest in '16 though (in '15 as well), so Michigan should be fine.
August 7th, 2014 at 12:54 PM ^
From what I understand, Pettaway would probably be a Michigan lean if he held an offer from both schools. But since MSU has offered and we haven't, he named them the leader. Now that Michigan has offered six 2016 running backs not named Pettaway, maybe the writing is on the wall.
Ok thx. Wonder why we dragged our feet on that situation.
On a totally unrelated note reading a LOT of love for Montae Nicholson over at MSU. I am still very confused why we stopped recruiting him when he seemed very interested in us.
but we have seen this staff tell other interested recruits that they were done recruiting their respective positions only to reverse course later in the year (ie lb recruiting last year and DL recruiting the year before). Maybe plans change based on changing needs or maybe that is just a nice way of telling interested recruits we are no longer interested for whatever reasons.
The coaches sent out some early offers, re-evaluated, and then sent out 3 more RB offers recently. I imagine they haven't offered Pettaway simply because they don't think he's one of the best six running backs to fit the team right now.
Also, I liked Montae Nicholson. I don't really get the way that situation played out, either. However, I'm pretty happy with the recruits Michigan has been pulling in.
in, are you really going to second guess their decisions? They know pretty well what they are doing and the best way to do it. That doesn't mean that they will land him but they will likely land someone who may fit into their plans better.
They will never land every target but they have proven pretty adept at bringing in quality recruits.
during Saturday's in the fall starts to improve I think one can still question the recruiting by the coaches.
Seriously! I mean, Jabrill Peppers and his 5 stars ain't done shit yet. AMIRITE?!?!
but the guys who are committing are being recruited by a lot of the major schools so if it's a matter of judging talent, Michigan isn't the only school with problems.
