Sam Webb's Laugh Brings So Much Joy

Submitted by The Fugitive on January 25th, 2019 at 4:00 PM

At the end of John U. Bacon's segment on WTKA this morning, Sam let out one of the greatest belly laughs I've ever heard.  I love Sam's laugh and this outburst is one for the ages.  The whole segment is great, talking about the great U of M basketball centers and the steroid era in baseball.

Skip to 26:17 to hear it.  Sam makes another "pitching a tent in Schembechler Hall" type of comment and JUB cashes in.

Happy Friday! Go Blue, beat IU!

JUB said something about being a freshman in 1983.    He's not too much older than I am.  From listening to him on the radio I would have sworn he was in his late 70's.

Yeah, he lost it and was laughing uncontrollably on the air.  So much so that I forgot whatever joke preceded it or was maybe half listening.  It did brighten up the morning. :-)

I will be celebrating my 15th wedding anniversary in April, which is traditionally the "Crystal" anniversary, I believe. To that end, I have already told my wife that I plan to open the bottle of Crystal Pepsi that I've kept since 1994. It should be nice and rancid now, as it was in 1994.

I was thinking the exact same thing this morning re Sam's laugh about JUB's wood anniversary comment.

I laughed hard at Sam's laughing. JUB does laugh like an old man.

Was in West Quad just before JUB. First people I met in the dorm were the Paul Heuerman and the Bodnar brothers. Great guys except Heureman's kid became a stud TE at OSU.

Yes, most everything about Sam brings joy.

Especially one cold winter night each December, when that joyful jolly laugh of Samta signals to Rudolph, Donnar Blitzen, and the rest of the crew that indeed it is time to launch into the night sky, pulling the jolly elf and his sleigh full of joy.

BTW, Samta does NOT wear red, not even on that one night each year.
