kool aid please!

“He’s a legend in my area in a way,” Harris said. “What Harbaugh did — to go to the NFL and do that, then go to college at Michigan and do that again — that’s one of the best coaches.”

with kiffin moving on, cristobal rumors, ambry momentum, DJP connection, the way najee talks about harbaugh... lets keep this train moving!

Definitely has some Beast Mode in him.  Has that one play where he just runs through eight players like Lynch did as a pro.  He does seem a lot like Walker, but more physical at the point of contact.

I think the sell is obvious:  "Yeah Alabama is a great football school that will prepare you for the NFL, but so are we.  Will Alabama the institution prepare you for life after football like the University of Michigan?  Also would you like to be living in Tuscaloosa Alabama for the next four years or Ann Arbor Michigan."  Harris by all accounts is an intelligent kid from Northern California.  Football aside, I imagine the University of Michigan and Ann Arbor are a bit more his style than Bama and Tuscaloosa (weather notwithstanding).

I'm a psychothearpist (UM MSW 08) and love social psychology; my former client population used to be 100% adolescent males aka high school kids.

I can read energy fairly well without much effort. As you inferred in that last sentence; Najee Harris is from the Yay Area. How many of you have actually spent enough time there to get a feel for the culture and society??

There is nowhere like the Bay and people from the Bay tend to be more on the unique, freethinking side of society.  (Yes I'm making macro level assumptions) While the distance from the Bay to A2 & Tuscaloosa is a similar; Tuscaloosa couldnt be further away from the Bay culturally and socially.

I honestly don't think the college town/ location would be as influential a factor if he was from say Salt Lake City or Las Vegas... But he is from the Bay Area which prides itself on being a one of a kind place.  It' kind of similar to the pride Michiganders show, you know, by placing one of numerous stereotypical and 'played out' stickers on their rear windshield,

Anyway, back to socialpsycho analysis from afar -

In what turns out to be a 'Program Tide Turning Moment' (see what I did there) Michigan pull the Coup of the decade by flipping #1 Najee Harris in large part due to his new found close friendship with other Michigan commits. Harris was quoted as saying that he felt like he found his new home for the next 3-4 years.  Harbaugh hails his 3 Bluechip Schoolboys and praises the teamwork of McCaffery & DPJ in making sure Harris knew this is where he belonged, with the good guys"

Hopefully in my dream tonight Leatherwood is there with Wilson and Banks

I 100% agree. I recall a handful of prospects over the years who were committed to Alabama and just prior to visiting Michigan cancelled their visits. I don't believe he would put an ultimatum on Harris at all, but he has a way of "persuading" his recruits to cancel their visits. Harris taking an official this weekend is a massive indication of how serious he is about Michigan. Hopefully he shows up, but it sounds like this thing could in fact be happening.

Although Harris joining the class may mean Samuels and/or Dillion may walk, the offense needs an instant impact guy.
