Rubber Wrist Bands
I was watching todays Countdown to Kickoff and I noticed a lot of the players(Including Greg Banks) had on Maize and Blue baller bands, they are similar to Livestrong bands. Can anyone point me in the direction where to purchase these? Are they made by Adidas? I called MDen and all they had were the Motts tye-dye ones. Thanks!!!

RR should ban these from practices and games. Though it is minimal, it gives nothing but a disadvantage to players who wear them. Players aren't supposed to wear rings, bracelets, etc. and this is really no different.
Fine for fans, not for players.

How is it a disadvantage? I agree they probably should not wear them, but I don't see how they are a disadvantage. Just curious on why you say/think that.

When I was playing college ball, my senior year the referees made us all remove our rubber wrist bands. I'm not really sure why but I guess it's a rule.

It's a safety precaution. The thought process behind the rule is that a would be defender could get a finger dislocated or broken if they grabbed the bracelet. It may be far-fetched but the justification is that a reduction in the risk of injury far outweighs the minor annoyance of having to remove jewelry and/or bracelets.

if a finger slides under one of those things the finger will break before the wristband does. It's a good rule.

Although it's minimal, it's just more equipment for an opponent to grab onto.
The dreadlocks also don't do much for a player, except maybe get his scalp ripped off. Anyone remember the '08 Miami OH game where one of our guys tackled a Miami receiver by his dreads? I think there'd be too much backlash if RR told his players to all cut their hair, but those guys are pretty nuts for wearing it long like that.

You do realize that these bands snap with very little force right? It's not like someone's going to get tackled by their Mott Children's Hospital wristband.

Jeez, idk, Tate's arms still seem pretty thin, imo. But D-Rob on the other hand, he is just too speedy for anyone to even see his shoe laces, let alone anything on his wrists.

I'm not sure how the effect would be different than a sweat band.

Its just like if you didn't tie up your cleats. Lord knows no one would ever be able to score a touchdown without the advantage of tied footwear. Damn these apparel disadvantages!

I don't see how it's any different than a player wearing thin bands around their bicepts -- which, let's be real, are for looks. Or a player having a tattoo. Should RR ban tattoos?

How dare RR let his team support a children's hospital. Jesus Christ! First they practice for 20 min longer, and now they support a children's hospital, WHERE WILL IT END WITH THIS GUY!? For Christ's sake, the rubber band could get inadvertantly ripped off and result in a ruptured ACL!
-Didn't think I had to explain this was sarcasm, but apparently I do...

properly aim spitballs at visiting fans?
Much greater range than the common straw.

What about wristbands, QB wristbands, Med bans on knees and elbows, Full braces on shoulders knees and elbows. This isnt a disadvantage they break really easy.

Gave them as favors for our wedding a few years back and am wearing one right now. We got the M Go Blue for Mott. $2 and procedes go to Mott. I think they have both maize and Blue.

ebay has these same one....I think. Same packaging. Others online sells different ones with the block "M" being blue. This one and the one on Mden sells the ones with the block "M" being "maize".

The wristbands complement the scars on his palms from where the nails went in.

I don't know. Our boys may have got their hands on one of those bands a few seconds before this:

I'm very sorry for hijacking this post, but as you can see I am new to the site and still not allowed to post a new topic. However, as I began gearing up for the season I found that Crocs are selling UM sandals on their website for $30 and it's buy one get one 50% off right now. This seemed like the best post to try to get the word out to anyone that's interested. Hopefully I don't get neg'd too bad. Thanks and here's a pic with the crocs website.

People still wear Crocs?
