I was in that same lecture.

I was in that same lecture. Every year I've thought about the guy who ran out of the class immediately when the women announced what happened. If that was you I'm glad that your dad was ok.

It was a good decision to go

It was a good decision to go but wasting a timeout hurts. Not to mention the bs that ensued.

osu celebration

I feel this is becoming more common but watching osu celebrate like they'd won the b1g struck me as disrespectful. they had the band playing and shit. I know they're honoring the fans but just go to the fucking lockerroom. you only beat sparty.

Are you in N Colorado? We

Are you in N Colorado? We have a small, but growing group for watch parties at the Mayor in Fort Collins.

What's unfortunate is this

What's unfortunate is this system was the solution to Roy Jones Jr. being robbed in Seoul. So, I'm guessing it will be just as bad when it goes back to a 10-point must. Teddy Atlas going crazy over the judging has provided the best comedic moments of the olympics.

Great story on Juwan from before the game yesterday.

Hey Bo, I'm in FC too.  We've been slowly getting a little Michigan group together, and reserved the loft at the Mayor for most of the football games (done a few bball games too, maybe this Friday).  Let me know if you want to get on the email list.

I had some Old Cherry on a

I had some Old Cherry on a New Belgium tour in January.  They made up a small batch for a party and were just serving it there.  I wonder what keeps them from making it a seasonal at least.

I talked to the tour guide about not being able to get Michigan beers in CO, and he said Bell's is looking to pull out of some of the southern states and likely will be shipping here sometime in the near future.

His times were better than

His times were better than Keshawn Martin in all of those too, except for the 60 in which they tied.  That's surprising to me because I would think Martin should be quicker on the shorter stuff.  Junior seems to have put in a lot of preparation, so hopefully it pays off for him.

awhile ago, but...

According to his new book, Dhani Jones was in the RC.  Not too much of a surprise, right?

Well, Jalen has a podcast on

Well, Jalen has a podcast on Friday on Grantland, so perhaps check that out this week.  I think our problems with your post is that it exposes personal prejudices that doesn't take a FBI profiler to see.

I find this whole post

I find this whole post reprehensible.  Where did criticizing Jalen Rose come from?  And please don't use "brothers" in this context.

agreed

I've emailed Brian about this a few times, and gotten thoughtful responses.  I don't think it's being a grammar nerd, but rather not furthering a stigma of a serious mental illness.  He agreed and said he would try to only use it when he was backed into a corner.  However, the word does seem to pop up a lot in UFRs.  When MSM journalists use "schizophrenic" (like cnn.com did in describing a stock market day last month), they are blasted with negative comments.  I hope he realizes at some point that seeing the word used like can be upsetting.

yes. it may be blacked out in

yes. it may be blacked out in areas it's on abc though.

Thank you

Thank you.  I was searching all over for this today.

postgrads

Smotrycz and maybe McLimans went the post-grad prep school route also.  I'm not sure why players do this, maybe more development, but it seems more common in basketball.

interesting

I'm not sure if 2004 would have been much better with Gutz (and would he have made all those throws to Braylon against sparty?).  I can't imagine he would have had 5 losses as a senior QB in 2005.  But then, would Henne have been experienced enough to lead the team to 11-2 in 2006?

Thanks. I convinced my dad to

Thanks. I convinced my dad to drive my friend (who was a Purdue fan) and I from South Bend for the game.  The weather was horrible the entire way there and never improved.  Definitely the coldest game I've been to, and I'd say the stadium only had at the most 75,000 people.  It's one of the most memorable for me, even though a lot of time was spent huddled in whatever shelter we could find.

Sagesse

It's cool that Sagesse will be backing up Eric Wilson, another former Wolverine.

Derrick

Yeah, I was there too.  He got hurt pretty early on in the game.  Yale Van Dyne baby!

confused

Did you read the post yesterday?

Lloyd's eloquence

Lloyd Carr's speech at Bo's memorial in the Big House is definitely one of them for me.  It's one of the best I've ever heard.  I'll always keep a recording of that.

great story

That's amazing.  I hadn't heard that before.

Even if the players/families

Even if the players/families are paying for the cars, they seem to be getting deals or discounts not available to the general public.  This wouldn't be as bad as giving the cars away for free, but it is still a violation.

Using "craft" when talking

Just make sure you don't burn

Just make sure you don't burn out and have a pretty solid plan before you start another program.  I just went back to school 6 years after graduating.  It may have been a little too long of a break, but I'm 100% confident in the path I'm taking now.

It seems you've come too far (and spent a lot of money) to not finish your 4th year.  Taking time off to do a PhD like some mentioned above seems like a good option, especially since you could bang it out in a few years.  One thing to keep in mind if you want to end up as faculty at Michigan, is for some grants (especially for postdocs), the NIH and other organizations like to see people who have been trained at multiple institutions.  It probably would help to learn from experts all over the country/world, and you a change of scenery may help your mental state.

Yeah, I thought he was one of the most popular and respected football analysts out there.

I'm pretty sure that 1st pic must be from a fairly recent reunion game or something.

I had read about the Illinois

I had read about the Illinois thing a few years ago.  But even Bardo and Gill say in the article the Fab Five took it to another level and were actually influential.  I vaguely remember the "Flyin' Illini" nickname, but nobody cares about them now.

How is that not lying to the NCAA?

This is perfectly said.  Izzo

This is perfectly said.  Izzo was complaining about the layup when we were only up 5 and their players were trying to foul.  Someone has posted a link on another topic here of sparty getting an alley oop with 15 sec left while up 17 in the 2008 game.  I'm so sick of their players/coaches/AD/fans talking with an air of superiority.  This is the year they are put back in their place.

I went to the SDSU at Colorado St game this week.  It was a lot of fun watching how animated he was on the court, screaming at players, stomping his feet, and standing almost at the 3 pt line a few times as play was going on.  I'm glad he's doing so well.

Yeah, Carr's defense

Yeah, Carr's defense struggled in '07, but they rallied and beat Tebow and Harvin.  With our D this year, we would have lost by 20 in the Horror.

Sure, they do.  I'm just

Sure, they do.  I'm just saying it wasn't going to bump us into the top 10.  To (somewhat) match those guys, we got a 4* TE and borderline 4* LB (Poole) who seemed to be Hoke/Mattison grabs.

Top 10 recruiting class "no

Top 10 recruiting class "no question"?  I don't see how that's the case.  We lost D Hart who would have been our top rated recruit, but he may have left either way.  It didn't seem like TomVH or Tim were writing about many other Top 150 guys who we had a chance with, particularly on defense where they are most needed.  Maybe there would have been a few surprises, but not enough to bring the class to elite status.

Also, I'm sick of him talking about "drama."

And I think Charles Woodson

And I think Charles Woodson would agree about the tuck rule thing.  Actually he said as much in an interview recently.  He jokes with Tom Brady about it, but still.

FWIW, Bruce Tall seemed to be our best assistant on the defensive side.

I'm impressed that Novak

I'm impressed that Novak consistently gets double-doubles against strong competition.  He's our leading rebounder now at 7.2/game.

This comment should be bumped to the front page.

I forgot about that

I forgot about that substitution issue on the Miss. St. TD.  That play seemed like a nail in the coffin to me.

I read that sentence

I read that sentence differently.  He said the only possible way RR returns is if there are no "serious options."  There are definitely good options, so I took that as Brian saying the probability is very low.
