RR on injuries at Monday presser, briefly
Briefly addressed:
Moosman's shoulder "popped out." It happened in h.s., too. He may be out for a few weeks.
Rest of the guys should be good to go next week. Nothing specific on Hemmingway, though.
Sorry for no link. The video is on mGoBlue.com right now.

RR: "But, I'll know more today."
I think he said somebody just had cramps and couldn't get re-hydrated. I didn't hear if he said Williams or Stonum (or other), though.
EDIT: Per comment below, it was Williams who just had cramps [ed: phew.]

When you see someone taken out on a cart you have to assume they are gone for at least most of the year, thats great news!!

When Williams was helped off the field and then carted away, my heart stopped too. Glad to hear it was just cramps. Spared the wrath of Angry Michigan Safety Hating God for the time being.

That is great news. As long as he makes it back for the MSU game, we should be fine.

Wow. Much better than I thought.

I will edit.

or does John Ferrera always seem to find his way on the field (he's Moosman's backup)?
Rest of the updates are good news. With the emergence of Stonum, a healthy receiver corp will provide consistence in the offense.

Well, Huyge moved to RG and Dorrestein went in at LT in the game. So Ferrara may not have found his way on the field. It looks like they might just reshuffle the line a little bit.

the EMU game will be in hand by halftime so we can rest guys and reduce risk of injuries to key starters. I'd love to see Denard get some significant playing time in that game with the go ahead to throw the ball.

The Williams news is great. Out of all the people I have seen being taken off on the cart, this is the least significant injury. Phew!

We are already paper thin in the secondary and throughout much of the fourth quarter it seemed as if we were playing with 10 men on defense. Interested to see how it gets graded in UFR, but I wasn't impressed with Kovacs and a long-term injury to Williams could be pretty disastrous.

Wasn't impressed with Kovacs? What exactly could he have done to impress you? I'm not saying the kid was a standout, but isn't it a good thing that a walk-on in his first game didn't stand out?

I'll tell you why I was impressed with Kovacs...I never heard is name called, ever. Yet he was still credited with two solo tackles. What's the alternative? A return to watching Golden Tate 5 yards behind Steve Brown. The kid came in and did his job. Props to Kovacs!

IM SOOOOO COLD!!!!

Kovacs made a tackle on Allen, laid the lumber on a receiver (Tate, I think) after a catch, and I believe finished with 3 tackles. He also didn't give up any deep throws. I'd say that's pretty good for a walk-on in his first playing time at safety.

I have to say my heart sank when Williams went out coupled with the fact that I know zero about Kovacs, but I was pleasantly surprised with his effort myself. Not that I'd take him over Williams, but he did well under the circumstances IME.

Re: Donovan
Definitely.
Kovacs didn't make any mistakes, but I felt that GERG gave up the underneath and Donovoan and Boubo stopped playing press to shield Kovacs.. I worry about the implications of this scheme over the long term though.

we won't play another team with two receivers that are that good.
