It's hate week for our biggest rivalry of the year. What do you hate about Rutgers? I'll start!

1. The Cannon

2. Order of the Bulls Blood

3. Gary Nova

4. Fence the Garden

Or have you ever…

Been lost on a jug handle?

“Competed” for parking at the Short Hills Mall

Had the checker at the grocery look at your groceries and look at you and say “y’think I’m helping you with those?”

Had some dude scream obscenities as you walk by with your 6 year old on the way to his t-ball game…

When living in NJ and on our way out, a neighbor mom said, “yeah, when I grew up here, I really had hoped I wouldn’t have to end up back here.”

One of my first times at the shore (also know as the ocean) I was hot in pursuit of a parking spot.  45 minutes of painful searching later I was on the cusp when some guy in front of me points to my spot, reverses and before I realize what's happening steals it.

All to swim in a ocean that rewards you with itchy skin after a swim.

I like New Jersey because New Yorkers dunk on them and fuck New Yorkers.

And actually one of my best friends is from Belleville, NJ (met at UMich) and he still lives in Jersey. Coming from Detroit where we also take our lumps has given me an affinity for New Jersey, even if some of the stereotypes are true.

That said, I still don't get The Shore. I'll take northern Michigan.

Rival, what rival. Hopefully, our football program will not sink down to the level as having the Red Scarlet being our main rival. I hate the scarlet and gray much more!

You guys must remember this piece of sad cringe related to #2 and 4 above:

This was June 2016. Harbaugh tweeted something in response. Then on October 9 the ESPN headline read "Michigan Holds Rutgers to 22 Yards in 78-0 Rout"

I was at that game. Biggest rout I ever witnessed, at any level.

It wasn't until the 4th quarter that Rutger got a first down, and when they did the crowd--what was left of it--erupted in applause. Michigan was trying to hold the score down, but even when they ran a fullback dive on 3rd and 9 it went for a long touchdown.

I actually felt sorry for the nice couple we sat next to, who quietly gathered their things and left after halftime.

Same here - don't forget the part where the Rutgers band come into the stands during 2nd half to play The Victors! Capitulation to the point of playing the opponent's fight song is a sight I never expected at a college football game.

(Also, I have to admit I was prepared for a bunch of loudmouth Jersey stereotypes and mostly ran into realistic and welcoming fans. Not letting me enjoy my preconceived biases in peace is probably what I now hate most about Rutgers.)

This is more of a beef w/NJ, but Rutgers is guilty bc they are in NJ.

Property Taxes...  The audacity to be NJ and think that you have the right to charge more than anyone else in the US for it.
