Rival coaches departing?
This season has already been successful on the field. We all hope the winning continues this season and beyond. Now we are also winning with the likely departure of our rival programs coaches. Franklin and Meyer have been diminished in their programs, and may be gone from the East at the end of the season. One also has to wonder how long Mork stays in EL. GO BLUE
November 22nd, 2018 at 1:28 PM ^
I would celebrate urban Meyer’s departure. I want those other guys to stay.

Eh, it's unlikely PSU or MSU will find a coach that is an upgrade to what they have. If meyer leaves, Harbaugh could own theEast for quite some time. Giggity.
November 22nd, 2018 at 2:47 PM ^
I'd say Moorhead or Rhule would be upgrades and at least 1 would likely take the job if offered. The crazy thing with the Franklin to USC rumors is he is such a bad fit for the job. USC recruits itself based on location and the pipelines to schools like Mater Dei. They need a coach who can instill order and discipline on a team filled with stars and make smart game day decisions.
November 22nd, 2018 at 3:17 PM ^
Idk about "order and discipline" at least in the traditional sense. Pete Carroll had slip n slides, Snoop Dogg and Will Ferrell at their practices and they destroyed everyone for a decade
November 22nd, 2018 at 4:22 PM ^
USC needs better coaches. Ones that can recruit with a plan in mind and utilize their talent. No school really recruits itself either. Some, like USC, have high floors, but they still have to fight to get top ranked classes.

Actually, I think Dantonio would jump at the OSU job if offered. Not sure if he could move within conference, but he loves him some buckeyes.
Wouldn't that be a kick in the groin for sparty.
November 22nd, 2018 at 5:30 PM ^
Nobody is shopping for Mark Deltoncio right now. That market has dried up.
November 22nd, 2018 at 8:53 PM ^
Sure, he would probably jump at the job, but would OSU want to give it to him? He's 62 years old and has a bunch of questions about his character. If OSU has to hire a new coach, I don't know if they would want someone coming in with those kinds of questions when they just had to deal with the mess of Urban Meyer, Zach Smith, etc.
November 22nd, 2018 at 11:23 PM ^
I was right with thinking you were going to be like "a bunch of questions with his...offense?...loyalty to bad coordinators?...ability to recruit nationally?"
Do we really think Gene Smith and 90% of the OSU fanbase cares one iota about character? I do not. They want to win. And for his age and some of the things I said above, I really don't think he'd be high on their list.
November 23rd, 2018 at 11:18 PM ^
Then what did they say after Tressel?!
URB had issues going in to the OSU job. I think it came down to a math equation: Wins > Morals. That's it.
November 24th, 2018 at 12:02 AM ^
They don't care about character. Mork doesn't win enough. That's all they care about.
November 22nd, 2018 at 8:57 PM ^
Osu would never hire MD this late in his career. It would be a young up start with huge upside. Dantonio isn’t going anywhere
November 22nd, 2018 at 6:59 PM ^
MSU would be lucky to get someone better than Mork. He's good and MSU is a shit job. PSU would easily get someone better. It's a good job and Franklin sucks.
November 22nd, 2018 at 9:58 PM ^
Most coaches at MD’s level or better are going the Saban route, put in a couple years and move on up. State is really lucky to have Dantonio; guys willing to make a career at a mid level P5 school are rare.

If Michigan loses on Saturday don't count out Harbaugh leaving before 2021.
November 22nd, 2018 at 1:42 PM ^
same can be said for if he wins sat...
November 22nd, 2018 at 2:38 PM ^
Three ten win seasons in four years. Pretty sure given the ability of that university to find head football coaches over the last 25 plus years guarantees they don't let Jim slip away. You live in a fantasy world Dayton Blue.
November 22nd, 2018 at 3:45 PM ^
I agree with the other guy who replied.
November 22nd, 2018 at 4:25 PM ^
Then what the hell was your point?
November 22nd, 2018 at 6:48 PM ^
What the hell is YOUR point?
November 22nd, 2018 at 9:44 PM ^
What's your deal?
November 22nd, 2018 at 11:56 PM ^
His point was that, no matter what happens, you can't count out the possibility that any coach still no still be in his current job in 2021. It's a banal truism, but it's all he's got, so he gave it to us.
November 22nd, 2018 at 7:07 PM ^
The chance that you ate lead as a kid are much higher than Harbaugh leaving within the next couple years.
November 22nd, 2018 at 7:15 PM ^
Michigan will be hell for jim if he cannot win this weekend.
Not a profound point but the OP is putting the cart before the horse scoffing at rival coaches before a game that Michigan needs worse than any game in over a decade.
November 22nd, 2018 at 7:57 PM ^
Ok, cool. Hook ‘em.
November 23rd, 2018 at 12:00 AM ^
Nah. Michigan (and Harbaugh) are playing with house money at this point.
November 23rd, 2018 at 12:34 AM ^
They about to bet it all and double up too.
November 23rd, 2018 at 2:20 AM ^
That makes no sense. JH is maniacally competitive and Ohio is our biggest rival. At MINIMUM JH is here until he’s kicked their ass multiple times and has a winning record against them. JH will go out with Michigan on top and positioned for success for years to come. Many years from now. And probably with at least one national championship.
November 23rd, 2018 at 8:08 AM ^
I didn't say he wasn't competitive. Let's hop they don't pucker and piss away their best chance this year.
November 23rd, 2018 at 9:08 AM ^
I am quite sure this is Jim Harbaugh's last coaching job. He will be at Michigan for (another) 15 to 20 years. He has young children. He has matured to a perspective that is pure Michigan. His aspiration of constructing a Michigan college football program that is elite at every level holds great opportunity for him here. There is no reason for him to move on, to anything else, at this time.
November 22nd, 2018 at 1:30 PM ^
Win. Recruit. Repeat regardless of what’s happening at other schools OSU will get a great coach to replace Meyer.
November 22nd, 2018 at 1:37 PM ^
Chris Ash isn't likely to last long either
November 22nd, 2018 at 1:45 PM ^
Is he going back to OSU after Urban leaves?
November 22nd, 2018 at 2:06 PM ^
To do what?
November 22nd, 2018 at 4:27 PM ^
Cry, especially the fourth Saturday in November.
November 22nd, 2018 at 1:52 PM ^
Chris Ash? Never heard of him. Pat Ash on the other hand...
November 22nd, 2018 at 2:28 PM ^
Rob Ash I thought.
November 22nd, 2018 at 6:24 PM ^
i'm fond of his cousin, pot ash, he's great for fertilizing a recruiting field.
November 22nd, 2018 at 8:03 PM ^
It doesn't really matter, honestly.
November 22nd, 2018 at 1:45 PM ^
No news here. I want Meyer to stay at OSU so we can beat him several times. I don't really care about Franklin (or Ashe).
If it turns out that Meyer and Franklin leave I wonder if it is because they hear Harbaugh's footsteps.
It would be really cool if John Harbaugh took over OSU or PSU.
November 22nd, 2018 at 1:57 PM ^
Like cockroaches scurrying away from the light.
November 22nd, 2018 at 1:59 PM ^
I just want justice to prevail. Good guys win for a decade on the field and off the field. Michigan winning and our rivals mired in scandals would be fine by me.
November 22nd, 2018 at 2:01 PM ^
Urban should consider his health.
James is good for PSU. He has them light years ahead of that scandal debacle.
November 22nd, 2018 at 2:31 PM ^
I hope Meyer slithers his snake ass back under a rock after a beat down this year. F him and his wife beater enabling BS. Much as I would like to see him stick around for more beat downs, I just can't stomach the man or his fake ass list of "values".
As far as Frames and Mork...meh. Stay right where you are. Franklin is clueless and I love seeing Mork frowning on the sidelines as his team flounders.
November 22nd, 2018 at 2:33 PM ^
I predict that all 3 will still be there next year.
November 22nd, 2018 at 3:56 PM ^
I'll take the under on all 3. Dantonio will be back. The other two seem to be really up in the air.
November 22nd, 2018 at 3:03 PM ^
I’d love to see both Franklin & Meyer leave & then watch a bunch of de-commits. I’d like to watch Dantonio stay because it’s just awesome to beat him.
November 22nd, 2018 at 3:40 PM ^
I want to beat Urban more than once
November 22nd, 2018 at 8:43 PM ^
Naw, one good kick in the ass on his way out is fine.
