Rival coaches departing?

Submitted by schlep4UM on November 22nd, 2018 at 1:18 PM

This season has already been successful on the field. We all hope the winning continues this season and beyond. Now we are also winning with the likely departure of our rival programs coaches. Franklin and Meyer have been diminished in their programs, and may be gone from the East at the end of the season.  One also has to wonder how long Mork stays in EL. GO BLUE

I'd say Moorhead or Rhule would be upgrades and at least 1 would likely take the job if offered.  The crazy thing with the Franklin to USC rumors is he is such a bad fit for the job.  USC recruits itself based on location and the pipelines to schools like Mater Dei.  They need a coach who can instill order and discipline on a team filled with stars and make smart game day decisions.

Sure, he would probably jump at the job, but would OSU want to give it to him? He's 62 years old and has a bunch of questions about his character. If OSU has to hire a new coach, I don't know if they would want someone coming in with those kinds of questions when they just had to deal with the mess of Urban Meyer, Zach Smith, etc.

I was right with thinking you were going to be like "a bunch of questions with his...offense?...loyalty to bad coordinators?...ability to recruit nationally?"

Do we really think Gene Smith and 90% of the OSU fanbase cares one iota about character? I do not.  They want to win.  And for his age and some of the things I said above, I really don't think he'd be high on their list.

Three ten win seasons in four years. Pretty sure given the ability of that university to find head football coaches over the last 25 plus years guarantees they don't let Jim slip away. You live in a fantasy world Dayton Blue.

Michigan will be hell for jim if he cannot win this weekend.

Not a profound point but the OP is putting the cart before the horse scoffing at rival coaches before a game that Michigan needs worse than any game in over a decade.

That makes no sense.  JH is maniacally competitive and Ohio is our biggest rival.  At MINIMUM JH is here until he’s kicked their ass multiple times and has a winning record against them.  JH will go out with Michigan on top and positioned for success for years to come.  Many years from now.  And probably with at least one national championship.

I am quite sure this is Jim Harbaugh's last coaching job. He will be at Michigan for (another) 15 to 20 years. He has young children. He has matured to a perspective that is pure Michigan. His aspiration of constructing a Michigan college football program that is elite at every level holds great opportunity for him here. There is no reason for him to move on, to anything else, at this time.

No news here.    I want Meyer to stay at OSU so we can beat him several times.   I don't really care about Franklin (or Ashe).

If it turns out that Meyer and Franklin leave I wonder if it is because they hear Harbaugh's footsteps.

It would be really cool if John Harbaugh took over OSU or PSU.

I just want justice to prevail. Good guys win for a decade on the field and off the field. Michigan winning and our rivals mired in scandals would be fine by me.

I hope Meyer slithers his snake ass back under a rock after a beat down this year. F him and his wife beater enabling BS.  Much as I would like to see him stick around for more beat downs, I just can't stomach the man or his fake ass list of "values".

As far as Frames and Mork...meh. Stay right where you are. Franklin is clueless and I love seeing Mork frowning on the sidelines as his team flounders.

I’d love to see both Franklin & Meyer leave & then watch a bunch of de-commits. I’d like to watch Dantonio stay because it’s just awesome to beat him.
