Stuck in Germany for work, so my wife is taking my older, experienced, deer slayer out today while my younger wants to wait for dad to come home so he can hunt.
XM, I firmly believe that I captured one on my trail camera a few years back in the Cadillac area. Feeding off a gut pile with 3 coyotes near. It wasn't a great picture and you could only see it from the backside. The DNR said it wasn't a good enough picture to confidently say what it was.
Went out with my 9 year old today. He passed on a couple big does this morning and was rewarded for his patience with an 8 point tonight. He was shaking for 20 minutes afterwards. It is so enjoyable teaching the next generation to be self sufficient.
In the last 24 hours we have watched Home Alone, Elf, It's A Wonderful Life and now Christmas Vacation. Love them all.
As for songs, Silent Night is sticking with me this year. Just returned from Germany and Austria and the origins of the song trace to the Salzburg area. I do love For King and Country's version of Little Drummer Boy, but my 9 year old tends to overplay it.
I'm always looking for new places to hunt, but am always drawn back to the land I grew up on. It's been a good year so far as my 7 year old has bagged his first deer (doe) and his first buck. I was also lucky enough to take a buck as well. We don't really need any more meat so the kid is looking to put one down for his grandpa this weekend.
This doesn't help if you're trying to go cheap, but December 2, the Lions play at 1 and Red Wings at 7. I would love to go double up on games at some point. Probably when my boys are a little older.
Trubisky out for the Bears, Johnson and Jones out for the Lions. This could be a defense dominated game and I hate to admit it, but the Bears D is pretty darn good.

I have an 11 year old who is 6 foot tall and weights 235 pounds. He can easily pull back a 60lb bow.
