What is your sports fantasy?

Ho hum Friday night with the kids..

I was sitting here thinking about our upcoming game... Against ohio... And thinking, what if Jimmy has truly figured it out? What if we go into the shoe, kick them in the teeth, go into the locker room up 13-7... And then do what we do and turn the screws to 11. And just pound them into pulp?

It would make up for 2 decades of losses. There'd be no more chirping at us. No more "last year was a fluke"... It would be glorious.

My other fantasy is for the Mets to win a world series again, against the Yankees. It's been decades, and living in the Yankees shadow is exhausting.

What's your sports fantasy? No matter how unlikely... I feel like a lot of lions fans might have something to say!

The Cubs won the World Series a few years ago. The Arizona Cardinals--another shitty franchise--came within a couple of minutes of winning the Super Bowl.

Sure, it's not terribly likely. But give the Lions enough draft choices to become a playoff team for a few years and if their conference opponents shoot themselves in the foot and they're lucky enough to face a team in the Super Bowl with whoever the Rex Grossman or Jay Cutler of the day is they might win.

Yep. I expect one Michigan football national title before I die just based on history and things breaking our way. We’ve been in the running for the CFP heading into the final week of the regular season in 2016, 2018, 2021, and most likely 2022 so it’s not that far fetched. The idea of a Detroit Lions Super Bowl is so unfathomable I’d pass away from happiness if it happened.

Look, it’s good in theory and in movies, it involves a lot of communication in real life. Also, if you’re off your game… we’ve all had that elephant ear, well imagine it’s in front if two girls not just one. These things happen but not always when you are at your best. These are things Ive heard from cooler friends

Also, all three parties have to share similar enthusiasm. I was in this scenario in my youth at a party. Every time one of them would "rotate to the top of the key" so to speak, she would whisper in my ear "tell (the other one) to leave".

Of course I was like "Sure. I'll get right on that." Not having practiced my "there's no 'I' in 'team'" speech, it broke up around third base.

You are thinking very small on your Michigan football fantasy. One win in Columbus this year? That does not even begin to make up for the last 20 years. We need another epic run. It doesn't have to be 18-1, but let's say 7-3.

Obviously the fantasies are Michigan championships in all the sports. I'd like to have football and basketball win it in the same school year like Florida.

I'd like to have basketball sweep MSU four times in a year with a win in the BTT title game and then in the Final Four.

  1. Margot Robbie
  2. Nathalie Emmanuel
  3. Emma Stone
  4. Paula Patton
  5. Scarlett Johansson
  6. Meaghan Markle
  7. Blake Lively
  8. Olivia Wilde
  9. Paige Spiranac
  10. Halle Berry (captain)
  11. ...and for Michigan, Kate Upton.

11 on 1 (me), tackle football, 1905 rules, no forward pass.

Actually had her on there, then took her off for the Kate Upton/Michigan line.

Football, contact sport, 1905 rugby rules...she doesn't have the frame. Upton on the other hand? Safer for everyone if you need tackle high to prevent the ball carrier from fall forward.

A national championship for Michigan football or basketball would be phenomenal. I’ve literally never had a rooting interest in either championship for basically my entire sports fandom (besides Beilein getting us so close) and I can’t imagine how elated I would be.

short of that any Michigan football win over Ohio State is basically a national championship level win. I was at The Game last year and it was bar none the best sporting experience I’ve ever had.

I've got the same two fantasies as you, OP.

We are going to break their will in Columbus, and it will be glorious.

I'm less confident about the Mets though, but you know, if they pull Judge away, maybe...

We turn into what Alabama was for the past 20 yrs or better.  All our backups are 5 stars. Our coaching is incomparable. Games are easy. We watch them in recliners and the blood pressure remains flat, and we're forced to find drama elsewhere such as a Buckeye season in which they may or may not be bowl eligible.

Alabama is not historically better than us. If they can do it, we can.

Hey Mets!  I second your desire to see the Mets win the World Series (it would also be nice against the Yankees).  I would also love to see the Knicks win the championship.

AND FOR THE USA TO WIN THE WORLD CUP!!!!!

This is a fairly easy question for me as M football is my only true sports love. A decade of dominating the Cuckeyes and at least ONE national championship.
