Rittenberg's UM/UConn prediction

Submitted by preed1 on

Michigan 28, Connecticut 27: The first game in the renovated Big House should be a great one. This certainly could go either way, but Michigan wins the game at the line of scrimmage with its size and athleticism. An improved offensive line creates enough room for its talented ball-carriers to make plays. Denard Robinson leads the winning touchdown drive late in the fourth quarter.

I'd rather see a three touchdown lead in the 4th quarter so I can relax a little, but any W would be fine as long as there are no injuries.  Still, I find it hard to believe that UConn will hold us under 30.

I think this year we see a reversal of UM vs. decent teams last year - UM comes out very strong, goes up 3 touchdowns or so, but UConn makes a comeback in the 4th quarter. UM holds them off for a close final score: 38-36.

I will stay with 45-41 Michigan.  I think this will be the most entertaining game of opening weekend, and will generate a buzz around both programs.

I just got a bolt of anxiety when reading "Robinson leads the winning touchdown drive late in the fourth quarter."

I can't handle the stress in the first week.  I need a 35-17 game or I'll be too drunk by the start of the 4th quarter to comprehend what is going on

UConn 38, M 28. Zach Fraser and Angry Michigan Safety Hating God conspire; TE Ryan Griffin catches two TDs. Denard plays well but throws a Taint late in the fourth quarter.

I think 48 mph wind gusts are in our favor (maybe not Tate's though). UConn supposedly prefers ground pounding anyway, with the wind gusts throwing off pass accuracy, they'll not test that secondary as much (or when they do, accuracy may be off).

I just hope Denard can pull deceptive read option fakes like Pat White can.

Im confident in the results of my dream last night:

Michigan 41  UConn 28 with 7 of UConn's pts coming in garbage time

Im so confident Im thinking about getting the shirt made before the game.

28-14 halftime score UM

Yeah, on this opener, I'm hoping to not deal with the heart attack of a late drive, especially given that I will be many beers deep by that point.     Praying for a Michigan blowout.

I'll say UM 31 UConn 28. I had this at 31-24 before Woolfolk got hurt. We should be able to exploit their secondary a little more than they can exploit ours, plus we're at home and need to win this game much more than they do.
