Rich Rod's Revenge Tour 2010!!!

Submitted by Chester Cheetah on

Ok, so I finally got this image embedding thing to work. This is a very rough draft of what could be a pretty cool tour "poster" or back of a t-shirt. So, if anyone would like to clean it up and add their own touches feel free to do so. Sept. 4th can't get here soon enough.

It should be in maize and blue. It could look cool with a blue shirt with maize lettering. Other than that, it looks pretty cool. I look forward to kicking some ass and taking names.

This is seriously awesome.

You should put this up for sale on Cafepress (does t shirt printing on demand)

I'd probably buy one.

I suspect many would, this is really good design.

You could donate the proceeds to Mott hospital (which would likely make more people buy it) if you're in a charitable mood, or just pocket the money yourself.  (Nothing wrong with profiting from a good idea.)

If you're the enterprising type, order a small print run of 500 shirts.   You could definitely sell 500 of these, esp. on the net.

If you're the lazy type, just put it on cafepress.  Profit margins aren't as high as printing them but it's low maintenence.

You should print up a bunch of them and sell them on Hoover St. on game days for $10 a pop.

You could probably make a pretty penny as most people would be happy to have something different than the usual "Rudy Sucks" and "Muck Finnesota" designs that they've been peddaling since at least 2000.

Tate and Denard, and bring them up on either side of the schedule?  That would draw back a bit on the length of the line, and I don't think reducing the lettering size would hurt the image

And you need a slogan.  May I suggest a simple "Get the Fuck on, or Get Out of the Way".  You may have to edit that before it goes in the M Den, though

EDIT: sarcasm on the slogan; but you do need something that evokes Rock

to have a meaner picture of RR, like one when he's taking a player's head off on the sidelines, or to go with the revenge them, one of him flipping off the masses.

I am not skilled in any way with photoshop.  This took me much longer than it should have.  If anyone else wants to fix it up and put their own spin on it, be my guest.

Does nobody else find the idea of a "Revenge Tour" beneath Michigan?  I know that we've been down on our luck recently but, honestly, it sounds like something MSU would say (every year).

Maybe I'm just being overly sensitive.

As for the poster itself, I don't think it looks good to just suddenly have pictures of Tate and Denard out of nowhere.  What I mean is, it looks like you used MS Paint to cut out section of a picture then make it black and white.  It would look a lot better if the picture faded to black (or even better, change the background color to a Michigan blue and have the pictures fade to blue) so that they slowly blend into the background.  The same thing could be said of the RichRod picture.

And, as others have already said, a pro-Michigan poster cannot have red and white as the 2 most important colors.

It appears as though you got the logo from the WWE (see here).  Changing the name to "Rich Rod's" is very obvious and thus looks poor.

I know this will inevitably offend you (probably because it's offensive) but, I think this is pretty bad.  But, that's just one man's opinion.

Simply addressing your "revenge tour" thing here. I think its a funny idea and a good summary of how most of us are hoping this season turns out. Everytime I read it, it sounds a bit tongue-in-cheek in my head, like when youre amped up for something but not 100% serious (example: when non-guidos are at a party and its time for "JAGERBOMBS!" and everybody yells about it and does one but nobody actually thinks jagerbombs are cool).

In summary: Michigan Revenge Tour = 1 season event that is said tongue-in-cheek

MSU version of Revenge Tour = real guidos doing "JAGERBOMBS!" every year because they actually think they're going to the Rose Bowl thanks to Fiutak.

Bleedin,  Your opinion is respected, but dude make your own poster.  You put a lot of thought into critiqing the OP's poster just make a better one.  IIRC he did kind of hand it off to see if anyone could or would improve on it.

I agree, it does look pretty bad and it's incredibly obvious that I ripped it off of the WWE revenge tour.

However, I'm not that great at photoshop and that's why I asked if others wanted to throw their own touches on it.

I simply had an idea, created a rough version of it, and invited others to improve upon it.

Change the red to blue and I think we're on to something here.

We are not below revenge, however. Too many have taken advantage of our vulnerability the last two years, and these grievances cannot be ignored. It is not the revenge of a scorned lover, but a giant harassed by flies in its slumber. These flies must be hunted and destroyed.

I'm with BleedinBlue.  I think the design is pretty poor.  While it might seem enjoyable to engage in a personal revenge tour, that is not really what Michigan football (or even college football in general) is about.

Michigan strives to be the "leaders and the best" and this means, among other things, rising above base instincts such vengeance.

The whole concept of this design reads as something that a bored 15 year old doodled on his notebook during algebra class.  The only t-shirt a Michigan fans needs is the classic one with "MICHIGAN" on the chest in maize & blue.

Totally disagree with your comments on the poster itself.  The OP said that he wasn't all that good with photoshop and opened it up to this board for improvements.  I am impressed with the shirt's style, especially as modified by some of the poster's this morning (like the color changes).

I sort of hear what your are saying about the whole revenge tour.  Traditionally, we are a powerhouse, so a revenge tour sounds sort of MSU / FSU / Miami ish.  But, the fact is, the last two years were pretty tough for us.  Bottom feaders like Purdue and MSU have been taking pot shots at us (and specifically RR) with regularity, and the media has certainly been all too happy to pile on RR.  For RR - a man with a ton of pride and a huge competitive streak - whether he will admit it or not, this season is about giving a big F-U to all of those that have been trashing him.

Based on this, I see no problem to being straight out and calling this season what it (hopefully) is - a revenge tour.

Brian, did you catch this.

I'll take an XL for me and a 2X for my brother.

On the revenge part, I think it's cool as Rod pointed out revenge is sweet and he doesn't ever forget.

RR: "Crom(fb Gods), I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that eighty-five stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Crom(fb Gods)... so grant me one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you(and ND)! "
