Scott Van Pelt set up Reece Davis and all but called him out for his shitty takes earlier this year.  Davis is a pro, though, and sidestepped.  But he was forced to say no asterisk was needed.

Fuck off, Reese...

Now, onto Eisen!

Feels bitchy to comment complaining after we came out as NATIONAL CHAMPS!!!

But I can't help but feel frustrated by the tone that Rece Davis took in his post-game interview on SportsCenter (I know, ESPN & all)

He said that:

The *blindingly obvious* holding penalty that called back the Odunze catch (not even a TD, just got them down the RZ if uncalled) was the only moment he thought Washington was getting back for a great finish; then called the penalty 'Ticky-tack'

Agreed that Twitter is "calling out a hell of a lot of uncalled holding on UM" (Is twitter now a verifiable media source?)

"I don't think there's an asterisk, but there is a subtitle... In some quarters, there'll always be a subtitle. UM needed this win, they have the all time winning record, but they needed this win"

You are spot on.  He is an ass and I’m being nice.  I too noticed how he tried to call the hold “ticky tack”.  Since he was so invested in his and Thamel’s joy in burying Michigan all year long it was fun to watch him have to back pedal now that Michigan not only won it all but really won going away.  Would have loved to hear him as he watched his beloved Bama sputter and fail in getting steam rolled in the epic Rose Bowl overtime. Sorry Rece!  I know since he went to Bama that he doesn’t count all of the players they bought before NIL as breaking any rules (wink, wink, nod, right Rece, only counts as cheating if you get caught, right).  But he sure loved calling out Michigan for “cheating” with “game changing” sign stealing (but at the end of that rant of his weeks ago he smiled at the camera and said, “allegedly” so it’s ok to accuse).

Hey Rece, take a look at the scoreboard, what do you see?  Michigan is National Champion!  Where is Bama? Oh yeah, at home hoping this isn’t the beginning of the end…. Saban is getting old and it’s no fun “competing” when all schools can now legitimately pay players.

Watching him have to use his nice and supportive words towards Michigan tonight was just another feather in the National Championship hat!

Stay classy Rece and like they say in your neck of the woods “Bless Your Heart” which I think is supposed to be a nice way of saying you’re a F*%#ing idiot?  If not then to be clear, you’re a F*%#ing idiot!

Rich deserves this win. He had to put up with being a national voice in a year when the nation lost its mind over Michigan cheating--that is, doing what every other team does but in the "wrong" way. The man has been holding his tongue for months. I hope he enjoys the repreive.

Thank God I can easily take a sick day tomorrow... not getting much sleep tonight and can listen to Rich's show tomorrow as a bonus.

Neither can I, Rich. This makes me so happy to see. I have been a Michigan fan since 2006 and really started to follow Michigan football in 2010. I have seen some brutal games and years of suffering have finally been washed away by a glorious national championship.
