If there's anything we have learned out of this process, it's that the guys who work the NFL beat really want to believe that the NFL is grossly superior to the college game.
I feel that the college game is superior for numerous reasons. Once college gets an eight team playoff and a compelling name for their final game, I think it may turn out to be bigger than the Super Bowl. Maybe that will coincide with Michigan winning the first epically-named college football championship.

I thought this thread was mocking Rex's weight...

Well, part of it is probably that Rex Ryan should come much cheaper, and the Bears apparently care quite a bit about that point.

Did he put an /s after it or did he say it in a way that one whould know he was being sarcastic?

Don't care who's a better fit for whom in the NFL. More concerned about Michigan.
December 29th, 2014 at 11:55 PM ^
Rex Ryan is actually a pretty good coach. He just had a miserable QB situation the entire time he was there (which could have been his fault, not sure how much say he had in personnel decisions).

He failed in the end, but he had some good teams, won some playoff games, and had some awesome defenses.

I am starting to think that the NFL guys work for the NFL.
December 29th, 2014 at 11:58 PM ^
Don't care.
I'm officially done paying attention to NFL coaching scenarios.
December 29th, 2014 at 11:59 PM ^
As in Rex Ryan's a fat ass? We'll that is demonstrably true, but nothing more than that.
December 30th, 2014 at 12:17 AM ^
Well, if we are going to start comparing ass sizes then I think I know a man who wants in on th competition...
(As a fat man myself, this is done in good humor. I still love Brady Hoke the person. He just proved to be a bad football coach)

You should google "good humor"

Especially for those of us who remember the alluring call of the bells of the Good Humor Ice Cream truck coming to the neighborhood.

I don't care if you're fat yourself. You might get a lot more laughs with this over at RCMB.

Someone buy Jim a copy of Madden. He can dominate the NFL every season, as many times as he likes and then when he has had his fill, he can turn off the playstation and continue coaching Michigan
December 30th, 2014 at 1:17 AM ^
He also stated that Harbaugh didn't know that the Raiders might be involved before accepting the Michigan job, even though they were mentioned as potential trade partners for the 49ers days before he accepted the job...
December 30th, 2014 at 6:55 AM ^
Was there even a single article from anyone speculating on Harbaugh's future in the last few months that didn't mention the Raiders as his most likely NFL destination? Literally every NFL mouthpiece was banging that drum, every Michigan writer feared that option, but Harbaugh and his agent didn't know it was possible?
Do some of these guys even care if anyone believes their nonsense?

Me thinks the NFL wankers don't want to admit that college is superior to all pro sports.
In other news, here's some art by Long Live Bo who posted in this thread-

For what its worth, Rex Ryan is not a bad coach.
The problem with Rex is that you need an established QB in place if you want to hire him.
Jim Harbaugh is the guy you bring in when you need to help develop a QB.
Among the NFL teams with openings, I think Rex Ryan would be at his best in Atlanta. Matt Ryan is a solid QB to start with. Its the defense that needs a massive overhaul, and Rex Ryan can handle that. Give him a solid Offensive Coordinator and it could be a great place for him. He can stay off the radar a little bit, fits in well, and gets to go up against his brother when they play New Orleans (unless his brother gets canned).
Anyway, Jim Harbaugh fits well anywhere. The guy is a beast. But I really cant think of a better place than Michigan for Harbaugh. It puts his excellent teaching/developmental skills in a place where they can shine. He gets to be himself. He gets to be (has to be?) a control freak. He has freedom over every little part of the organization. And of course there is that little Jim Harbaugh/University of Michigan history/connection that people keep bringing up. He is beloved here. I really hope he falls in love which coaching here and cant find a reason to go back to the NFL.

I would touch Rex with a ten foot pole. He's far too one sided. As a DC? No question. As a HC? Not a shot in hell. Especially not in today's NFL.
