Rex Ryan a bigger catch than JH???

Submitted by maizedNblued on
John Clayton just stated that JH sent out several feelers to potential NFL suitors (Jets, Bears) but both said "no thanks". He then goes on to say that Rex Ryan is a wanted man alluding that many teams would love to interview him about potentially hiring him as their next head coach. Soooooo evidently, Rex Ryan is a more sought after coach than Harbaugh - My question is.....DO THEY REALLY THINK PEOPLE ARE THAT NAIVE????

If there's anything we have learned out of this process, it's that the guys who work the NFL beat really want to believe that the NFL is grossly superior to the college game.

I feel that the college game is superior for numerous reasons.  Once college gets an eight team playoff and a compelling name for their final game, I think it may turn out to be bigger than the Super Bowl.  Maybe that will coincide with Michigan winning the first epically-named college football championship.

Rex Ryan is actually a pretty good coach. He just had a miserable QB situation the entire time he was there (which could have been his fault, not sure how much say he had in personnel decisions).

He's a good coach but to allude that NFL teams are more excited about the potential of hiring RR and saying no thanks to JH is a slap in all of our faces. I usually don't swing at curveballs in the dirt but listening to these clowns is irritating.

Well, if we are going to start comparing ass sizes then I think I know a man who wants in on th competition...

(As a fat man myself, this is done in good humor. I still love Brady Hoke the person. He just proved to be a bad football coach)

Was there even a single article from anyone speculating on Harbaugh's future in the last few months that didn't mention the Raiders as his most likely NFL destination? Literally every NFL mouthpiece was banging that drum, every Michigan writer feared that option, but Harbaugh and his agent didn't know it was possible?

Do some of these guys even care if anyone believes their nonsense?

Guys... we won. Chillax. Continuing to be put off or feel slighted by what the NFL guys are saying? We shouldnt care. Besides, even if all this is true, maybe it was sticker shock that turned off the Shield. but who cares -- lets rise above this, move forward, celebrate, and leave the NFL stuff behind.

Geesh.

For what its worth, Rex Ryan is not a bad coach.

The problem with Rex is that you need an established QB in place if you want to hire him.

Jim Harbaugh is the guy you bring in when you need to help develop a QB.

Among the NFL teams with openings, I think Rex Ryan would be at his best in Atlanta. Matt Ryan is a solid QB to start with. Its the defense that needs a massive overhaul, and Rex Ryan can handle that. Give him a solid Offensive Coordinator and it could be a great place for him. He can stay off the radar a little bit, fits in well, and gets to go up against his brother when they play New Orleans (unless his brother gets canned).

Anyway, Jim Harbaugh fits well anywhere. The guy is a beast. But I really cant think of a better place than Michigan for Harbaugh. It puts his excellent teaching/developmental skills in a place where they can shine. He gets to be himself. He gets to be (has to be?) a control freak. He has freedom over every little part of the organization. And of course there is that little Jim Harbaugh/University of Michigan history/connection that people keep bringing up. He is beloved here. I really hope he falls in love which coaching here and cant find a reason to go back to the NFL.
