Dude, let me tell you about Jersey.  Paramus is in Bergen county at the most tip top northern end.  Egg Harbor/Atlantic City is in the very bottom right.  They are like 3 hours apart and you would use different interstates to go west anyway so it makes no sense for them to ride together.  It's like saying some dude from Detroit is going to carpool with someone from the UP.

Are you telling me there's no one associated with Michigan that would be able to give him a ride without it being a recruiting violation?? That seems nuts considering it's not only the #1 player in the country, but a position of need!

And everyone in Ann Arbor says he's coming to Michigan. And everyone in Auburn thinks he's going to auburn. No one knows except Rashan and I guarantee you he doesn't even know yet where he's going. Besides, how could you blame the guy for wanting to go to Bama or Auburn? They're damn good programs. Michigan will get there soon, but we're not right now.

I hope that Rashan works through his recruitment and in the end decides that attending Michigan is in his best interest. I truly do.

That said, I'm burned out on the whole recuiting thing. I find it absurd that high school students schedule television coverage for their non-binding "commitments". Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, in late August the coach, Bo in my case, would introduce the new freshmen. So my view is this: I trust Harbaugh to recruit the guys he needs regardless of stars or hype. I'm not saying that stars don't matter, because the statistics clearly say they do. But stars can't indicate the set of talents required to complete a defense or offense. So I'll just trust Harbaugh to find a mix with whom he can win the games the team needs to win.

(not about Gary specifically but recruits in general): When a recruit plans on visiting but follows that up with an immediate circumstance/caveat for which he might not, he's not. It's a universal rule of recruiting. Oh, you plan on visiting but you might have to mow your neighbors lawn on that day? Not coming. Etc. This is zero surprise to me.

Don't get an ulcer everytime something like this occurs, we'll see what happens.

Hopefully Gary will commit to Michigan eventually and we can all laugh at all the worrying.

They have just reopened Seoul Galbi near Paramus:  http://www.yelp.com/biz/seoul-galbi-paramus?osq=Korean+Bbq

Best barbeque east of the Mississippi they say. I bet Rashan is there right now, pondering another spicey bite with mom, neither comprehending the other's words because ... Seoul barbeque.

Let the young man enjoy his supper. He'll make the decision that's correct for him. And then fart spicey smelling flames in the morning.

I feel like this is more of an overreaction than necessary.  It's going to be a battle all year for Gary, so just because he isn't coming to one event shouldn't change much.

I try to not follow recruiting too much as I find it too much of a rollercoaster. That said, I'll be bummed if Gary ends up elsewhere. Again, I don't follow too closely, but isn't his mom pro-Michigan? Weren't Malik McDowell's parents also? Didn't carry enough weight then, but it carried enough when it was time for Tyus Battle to decide to reopen his recruitment and ultimately pick Syracuse. Maddening stuff, I tells ya.

Only one way to solve this. Bring the bbq to New Jersey, Clippers style. Is it a violation if Jay Harbaugh camps out at the Gary House until Signing Day?

Holy moly you guys. It was already known that he had a conflict with his SAT prep class that might prevent him from coming. That in itself told me he probably wasn't coming because those things don't tend to reschedule themselves because of a recruiting event for one student. The overreaction on this board is strong with this one. It's a freakin BBQ, not like he burned his Michigan gear or cancelled his official visit. Good grief.

gary isn't spurning his state school for a school that has never beaten his state school..even if that school has hired his controversial coach. After RU beats UM again and also OSU in NJ this year, I think RU will wrap up Gary and Mitchell
