When your most valuable assets are your players and your fans, and they both universally agree who your next coach should be, it’s nice to see them get what they want/deserve.

I don’t know if Pierce will be their pirate in shiny rags like they’re hoping for but they got their wish. I’m guessing they would’ve pillaged and plundered had they not gotten their way.

I’m guessing hiring a guy who’s only been an NFL coach for two years, has never been a coordinator, and whose only head coaching experience was in high school, mainly because the players on a non-playoff team like him, isn’t going to end well. But it’s been a long, long time since the Raiders were known for good decision making.

So like... Your fine that those "seasons on the brink" always contain a couple losses to bad football teams where the Steelers look inept, and had they just won those games the season wouldn't have been on the brink?

I was in Tomlin's corner a lot longer than many others but this guy just seems to make every team he has mediocre no matter how good they are. And why were we playing Mitch over Mason Rudolph? Guy might not be a franchise QB but he's pretty clearly a step up from Mitch Trubisky. Can you imagine how bad we would be without TJ Watt? They're like 1-12 without him.

Never really felt like the Raiders were in that sweepstakes this year. It also felt like the players were all in on Antonio Pierce and weren’t going to be happy if Davis went with an external hire.

It’s probably the Chargers or no one at all.

I am of the belief that (and it's just my opinion) if Harbaugh gets passed up again this year, then his NFL dreams are pretty much over. This will be several years of no offers. He isn't getting younger, or cheaper, so it just feels like do or die now.

If you watched any of the Raiders down the stretch you could see the team effort on every snap. Doesn't mean Pierce is the right guy going forward, but as a lifelong Raiders hater I actually enjoyed watching them play the last month.
