Sam Webb said a month ago that UM's recruitment of him was far from over. Said the same about Khalid Kareem.

I'm not worried about recruiting and class sizes.  Harbaugh will make it work out.  I really wish we could have Blake O'Neil for a few more years though.  He's been an instant difference maker.

Have you not seen our kicking game the last few years? If anything Kicker is definitely a spot to use a scholarship. They can literally win or lose a game by themselves for you. Allen was good enough to have a few offers but chose Michigan anyways. We need a good kicker/punter at all times on the team.

Before the season, you'd written that you'd heard that Kyle Seychel would be Michigan's placekicker this season. But Kenny Allen has held the job since the start of the season.

I don't know what Kenny Allen's career plans are; but despite how well he has played this season. IF, like Jack Miller from last year's team, he has told the coaches that he isn't interested in a fifth year, because he'd like to start his business career, could Quinn Nordin be considered as some protection against (a) Kenny Allen leaving after this season and (b) disappointment in the performances of Kyle Seychel and Andrew David?

Also, has there been any news about whether Andrew David has received permission to try baseball in the spring.

Yes, that's what I heard. It's quite possible that Allen just improved a great deal. He was only working on punting before the spring, when John Baxter told him they wanted him doing both. Seychel was the kicker in the spring. So it seems that they were fine with Seychel kicking, but then Allen surpassed after knocking off the placekicking rust.

I love this player, but I don't understand how we have an available scholarship for him.

Total conjecture (no insider info at all, firing completely from the hip), but perhaps Andrew David isn't happy here.

that I missed Thomas Rawls making his first TD for the Seahawks.  I think it was a long one. [Replay looks like it was almost 70 yards.]

EDIT:  69 yards, 2nd-longest in NFL season, and I think they said it was Seattle's first rushing TD this season (but don't quote me).

how we're going to have room for most of these guys left on the board.  If they can get Walker to flip from OSU that will give UM like 6 running backs committed?  Also what about some of these two star guys who's next biggest offers were from tiny ass schools?  Captain obvious says some kids will change thier minds, some current players will transfer, ect.  But it seems like there's going to be a lot of players who are going to really consider coming with what UM has done so far this fall.

the problem is, as noted, fitting 28 guys in lol. Which 28? Either we need to lower our expectations on kids or drop some already committed. I can think of a few commits that are likely not going to be here if we need the spots. Surprisingly, star ranking isn't necessarily the order.

It makes sense for any high school athlete with offers from numerous high-profile colleges to take full advantage of the all-expenses-paid “official visit,” especially when the visit coincides with a high-profile event.

We all might hate it, and his "official visit" may be entirely disingenuous, but if Quinn Nordin wants nothing more than to say that he got to walk through the tunnel and step on the field at The Big House before Michigan played Michigan State or Ohio State, as long as Michigan is paying for his expenses, then you can’t expect him to turn down that opportunity, even if he has no intention of enrolling at Michigan, and he still plans to enroll at Penn State.

If my child, a high school soccer star, were offered “official visits” to Michigan during the weekend of the Michigan-Ohio State football game at the Big House, and to Duke during the weekend of a Duke-North Carolina basketball game at Cameron Indoor Stadium, and to Stanford for the Stanford-Cal football game, and to Oregon during the weekend of the Prefontaine Classic – even if my child were most interested in attending Northwestern for its undergraduate journalism program, AND had committed publicly to Northwestern – then I’d probably let my child take all of those “official visits” . . . and then convince him to enroll at Michigan.
