Proud of our boys

Submitted by BlueChitown on

I am proud of our boys in the maize and blue.  Yeah, they got outplayed yesterday.  But they didn't quit, and they played their hearts out and hung with the #2 team in the nation and the Heisman frontrunner for a good portion of the game.

The D got shocked with 14 in the opening minutes, but buckled down and made it a game for the better part of 3 quarters.  The offense was not good, but we knew that already.  JOK was largely serviceable and made some good plays.  Receivers need a lot of work.  PP and run blocking needs tons.

But I think this will be a game to build on going forward, actually.  Watch for that score to flip again next year.

Be quiet troll - these kids never gave up and played hard until the end. The staff might have let them down at times with the play calling, but respect the effort of the teens and 20-somethings who played the game.

Very tough situation for young team w back up QB. In the end they were more talented and experienced then we were. It’s a rebuilding year. Disappointing? yes. End of the world or this program? No

It wasn't the end of PSUs program when we beat them silly the past two years. The Chris Fowlers of the world can taunt our desire to be great when we fail. I was annoyed to listen to his mockery whilst listening but now I welcome it. Continue to doubt us. Talk non stop about Barkley rushing more in a quarter than UM gave up in a game all year. That is the only point he had all game. Fine. We were out side of our talent. We will be an 8-5 team losing JOK and McKrey as Seniors. The next three years will be stacked. One game does not a program make.

Go Blue! We didn't give up. Humbled but still proud.

we didn't quit on the last drive - almost forced a fumble and the last play of the game, when D Frank hurried in a play, we crashed the backfield.

Very disappointed in the last drive before halftime - that really set the tone for a massacre.

This has been the 1st ugly stretch for us under Harbaugh - next year is really the time to see who we truly are.

Right back to where we started at the end of Hoke..."proud of the team for not quitting". Jesus.

I remember a thread almost exactly the same after losing 31-0 at Notre Dame.

Right when they scored that first TD. I think it's funny the implication is that we should have expected they'd lose 50-0 or something and not come out of the locker room for the second half. On second thought, based on they way they played I'm not sure the same team did come out of that locker room after all.

We all still love Michigan, but you're right this is very Hoke-esque. Moral victories and all. You can dress up this shitshow all you want but it was still a shitshow.

Yeah, I'm a troll that has over 20,000 points and has been on here since 2009. Jesus, what a dumb thing to say lol.

I'm just sick of the excuses is all, people can continue to spin it however they want, we should not have an offense ranked in the 100s, ever. We should not be behind MSU in the standings, but here we are. And they'll probably beat OSU or PSU but people on here will continue to talk about how their time is coming, because that's what they do, year after year.

Working hard is great but should be expected for all D 1 athletes. The fact is we got our ass kicked last night and we’re the 4th best team...in our division. Who knows, maybe we run the table like PSU did after we beat the shit out of them last year. If so i’ll Feel extremely proud of the entire program. Today it feels like a repeat 2013.

I blame Hoke for his ineptitude to recruit offensive weapons. He was great recruiting defense and we've seen zero drop off. However it was inevitable to have one on offense.

Reading your smug arrogant BS last night, my first thought was, Sparty or Buckeye, although the former more likely.  I was wrong.  Your two "4910" accounts state exactly who you are.

You are one of the pedophile enablers... and one sore winner

In all honesty, there is no way that, Michigan was going to leave Happy Valley, with a win. It was completely obvious from the outset that one team would be allowed to play their game, understood! We have a great group of young men, that should continue to keep their heads up. Despite all odds they left it all on the field. For that they deserve our support and appreciation. It's amusing(not) how many people know more than our staff. I digress. For what it's worth a conscious person with the ability to use their 7 senses could deduce lots of things from yesterday's game that are a little unbalanced. However, some people also believe in justice and equality, that's funny. Lastly, maybe one day we will get the benefit of the doubt but until then I will continue to support our program and young men faithfully until we do, succeed and reach our ultimate goal. A national championship, the right way(whatever that may be).

Yeah, lets give them juice boxes and orange slices after the game. Listen, these are good kids and good athletes. They represent the University well and I am proud of them. However, these players...specifically the ones on defense last night...seemed to be demorilized. Especially in the second half, it was clear that these players threw in the towel and looked lost and stunned. I agree Don Brown did not put them in a good position last night, especially McCray. Nevertheless, our safeties played awful last night

What part of getting gashed for 42 points made you think the D "made it a game for three quarters"?

And as for "a game to build on going forward"...we've heard this excuse week after week and yet we've found ways to get worse. So please, stop with this moral victory bullshit. I'm sure we'll get better under Harbaugh but it ain't happening this year

There's no where to start. The defense sucked, clear and simple. I think that was scheme and not talent maybe outside of McCray. After 3 years, and if I'm Jimmy, I find a new OL coach or two. Pass patterns seem simple and although guys like Perry were good last year, this year they can't get open. Athletes or patterns?

My guess is that Jimmy does a ND Kelly move and shake up the culture internally. A WR and OL coach for sure and an exciting OC. There's too much talent and speed to play iike a second tier BIG team. Moo U will lose two more games and so will UM. I'm accepting my fate this year and like so many years in the past there's always manana which is becoming UM's mantra..

Reading the quality of information behind the many overreactions after losses, I hope all the people who say they have given up on rooting for Michigan actually do. And then stay away.

You add far less discussion than what the OP is doing.

I am not proud of the score or the outcome.  Of course not.  But this game felt a lot different from the 2007 Oregon drubbing.

And let us not forget that these are college kids.  Some of them will be pros in the future, but most of them will not.  I love to see them play well and win, and I've no doubt Harbaugh will get them to that point sooner rather than later.

It's the huge uptick in Year 1 that even had us at these expectations.  Most people were saying Year 3-4 would be the year before Rudock went all pro on us.

But when we get on Internet boards to roast college athletes, that is a problem with us, not with them.

I love how the narrative always changes to justify bad coaching. During last year it was "Omg Harbaugh is a super elite coach he is one of the top coaches in the country he can take Hoke's recruits and turn them into pros and we'll be national title contenders every year", but now he can't win because he has Hoke's recruits and he needs 3-4 years to build a program? How does that work? Not to mention he has plenty of his own recruits playing at this point.
