Top performers:

DT Ryan Glasgow (+7.2)

DT Maurice Hurst (+5.2)

CB Jourdan Lewis (+4.2)

LB Royce Jenkins-Stone (+3.9)

DT Willie Henry (+3.8)

Great to see RJS show up here, as sad as I am for Ojemudia, I'm happy for him getting to see the field.

PFF still has Jourdan Lewis as their #1 CB in college football based on games played this season (shhhh!!!!).

Defensive Line continues to get accolades across the board.  Assuming he wants the job, someone very smart is going to hire Brady Hoke to be their DL coach and recruiting coordinator (someone besides Jack Harbaugh and Gary Moeller).  I hope it is not someone in the Big Ten, but I will be happy for him wherever he goes.

At this point, is it safe to say their are about 6 or 7 players currently getting playing time on our D that have some level of NFL potential?

Henry, Hurst, Wormley, Glasgow, Peppers, Lewis, Taco ?

being anything other than a UDFA.  He is a very poor man's Chris Borland.

Jarrod Wilson and Delano Hill will both get looks without a doubt.  Both are long and rangey.  They haven't made the play against the pass because of our scheme, but both are a key reason you barely ever see anything thrown over the top, and we play a lot of cover 1 so that speaks even more to how quickly they cover ground.

Don't sleep on Stribling either.  He will get one more year to show what he can do and he is absolutely built in the mold of a Richard Sherman.  Needs to get a little stronger up top so that he is better at jamming receivers, but his ball skills have improved tremendously since year 1.

who runs well and can cover the 2nd best WR on just about any college team, but he does not have the hip flexibility needed to be a corner at the next level.  I don't think that is a knock on him, because the same is true for Peppers.  Both will have to play safety at the next level.  Peppers already has the body to play there.  Clark will have to hit the weights, but he has all the other tools.

He's been grading out well the past few weeks. The eye test is being backed by how he's grading out. Our dline is incredible!

For every position across the line it's a true 1a/1b situation. I don't feel like we lose anything when a backup comes in. A quick example is Glasgow dominates the line of scrimmage and gets good penetration routinely. Then Hurst comes in and explodes in the backfield for TFL's and sacks. Dline is just straight up boss!

"This defense is BRUTAL. They can control and stifle anybody. The offense is adequate but they'll never hang 50 or even 40 on anyone and I fear there's going to be that game where the D is human and has just one or two slip-ups and the offense won't be able to deliver the counterstrike that gives us a chance to win. There's gotta be a loss coming somewhere...hasn't there?"

- unshakeable feeling I have right now. What just occurred to me is that the last time I felt this exact same way about a Michigan football team was 18 years ago...

Well, that may be true. Teams more often than not will quit when down a lot. I guess my concern is whether this offense can score big if it ever HAS to. Which hopefully isn't needed anyway. But you never know.

I'm not tearing anything down here. I just feel like we have yet to see this offense really take it to someone for a full 60, instead of scoring just enough to let the defense do the rest and letting up on a demoralized team. The concern is that teams like OSU and MSU aren't going say, "Well...damn. I guess that's that", if they fall behind 21-0 in the first quarter...which is a scenario I would consider unlikely anyway.

Please continue to be this awesome. (Only 4.2 yards a completion allowed in this game!) Also, please ignore the pro scouts when they try to convince you to leave early. Did I mention we have plenty of Durkin Doughnuts now? You can feast on them next year, too. Go Blue!

This is the only concern I have with next year's roster.  Otherwise we will be more talented next year than this year.  The line is so dominant and will be again next year that the level of concern as far as inexperienced LBs should be almost zero.  Gedeon and Devin Bush/Daelin Hayes/David Reese will be good enough to hold the fort until we can rebuild that group with a much smarter strategy towards redshirting a kid or two.

about this with Harbaugh.  I think anyone that we see with the label "athlete" will be a candidate to fill a need at corner.  Plus don't forget that Lavert Hill is strong candidate to flip, and I would consider him elite.  Missing out on Conley last year did hurt here.  Obviously he is already contributing at Ohio.  Crawford tore his ACL, but was another one we had in the fold.  Consistent winning will bring these types of prospects back.
