"Prepare to be Amaized" with Alan Bowman and Dan Villari; Ep. 2
Alan Bowman and Dan Villari have a podcast called "Prepare to be Amaized". They posted their second episode today, and it's a fun listen. They both have a lot of personality and seem to have great chemistry. They give insight into some of the more personal aspects of the team, and they bring on Ronnie Bell for a portion as well.
Give it a listen!

Speaking of Alan Bowman, some talking heads thought he’d come in and win the starting job, but I feel like the only time I’ve even heard his name brought up has been due to this podcast. I’m not suggesting that I think that’s a good thing or a bad thing, just a bit interesting/surprising.

Same. Incidentally, he mentioned on the podcast that the learning curve has been more than he expected. Wonder if that is the main reason we haven't heard much from him.

I thought he had a good chance to start but he arrived on campus much later than I expected.
I think Cade will be fine, though.

Main reason he’s not starting is we have two QB’s better then him.

I was in the camp of calling it a 55% chance Cade starts, 45% chance Bowman starts before the season. I am really surprised that our 5* easily passed him, that is a FANTASTIC sign for us in the future because Bowman is not some chump ... he is very experienced and put up some good stats so for a newcomer to just come right in and pass him easily says A LOT.

Brandon Brown predicted on twitter earlier this summer that Bowman would be the starter against WMU. That didn't age well.

Is Twitter the only place left for Brown to peddle his bullshit these days?

He may be -- he's bounced around so much in the past several years that it's hard to keep track. And if he is, it's nothing like the SI of the past. These days SI has all the legitimacy of a rambling Facebook post from your weird uncle.

He hasn't aged well, period.

It's pronounced "MOOTS-a-RELL"!

Bowman arrived after McCarthy did - JJ was here for Spring camp, and Alan showed up just in time for Fall camp. McCarthy has had ~8 months to work with other players and staff while learning the playbook. Bowman has had a few weeks while learning teammate names and where his next classroom might be located.
I'm not sure how anyone is surprised at the resulting depth chart.

I mean. . . I was amazed at much of last season.

Saw this and listened to both episodes while at the gym. Big leap from episode one to episode two in terms of quality. They bring a little bit of insider discussion into the mix, and play off of the "I'm from Texas and he's from Long Island" vibe.
Good chemistry which seems good for the QB room overall.
I did hear the term "shout out" about 50 times so there is that.
Speaking of shout outs. How about someone from the board sponsoring this deal? No sponsors so far that I can tell.
Give it a listen.

I listened to the first episode and thought these two young men did a fine job with some entertaining stories and insider insight about the team. They have charisma and good chemistry together. Not a bad combination if football doesn't work out. Maybe they will take their show on the road. I will keep listening.
