I think we'd all agree a road game is tougher in college, right? No disagreement there I wouldn't think. A night atmosphere in most of these big time programs is nuts. It doesn't mean you can't win but if home field advantage is a thing it would make sense to also think it's more of a thing in a more extreme atmosphere in said home field.

I get your point though, of course. If this program is what we hoped and thought it could be you have win a game like that.

I was talking to Vincent Smith yesterday and mentioned PSU.  He said the White Out was absolutely the loudest place he ever played.   We were walking right next to one another and he said if we were on the field, we wouldn't be able to hear each other without yelling even being that close.  I thought that it was going to be a day game and he said "Great it will be better."

Pretty sure I've read this comment every time we comment on how Michigan fucks itself over with its ridiculously difficult and completely unnecessary schedule.

The game will be an ugly one Mr. Mongo and dont think you're going to like the outcome.....even if the whole team "straps it on".

While he was forced to go to Kaepernick because Smith’s concussion in the 2012 season with the Niners, he did stick with Kaep, when Smith returned as his team played better so he does have a history of going with the hotter/better QB. Hope McCaffrey is healthy for Illinois and he gives him a chance to take the job.

Jim stuck with O'Korn after the monsoon debacle and horrid play vs Indiana and Penn St. Only when it looked possible that we could lose to Rutgers did he pull him for Peters.

In hindsight, and I have been one of the biggest Shea defenders on this board, probably would have been better to not pursue Shea and then stick with Brandon last year. Either he played well and we end with a similar record and he would now be a 3 year starter, or based on how Jim wasn't too high on him in the first place, we could have thrown in Dylan last year and been in a much better spot this year and going forward.

White out all but guarantees an ugly beat down, if that weren’t the case already. The offense is in no way, shape or form able to perform on that stage. D will hang in there for awhile, but will crack eventually due to the offense’s incompetence.

Yeah - FOX put out some press release in the last couple days that indicated they will have games at 12 PM and 4 PM on October 19th, and both will be Big XII broadcasts.

So obviously Michigan/Penn State won't fall there.  Given that, you have to figure it will be on a Disney network.

ABC does have a requirement to show 1 Pac-12 game in Prime Time every year.  They have had zero thus far.  Oregon @ Washington on October 19th is an option.  But not as good an option given Washington lost yesterday.  Arizona State @ Utah on October 19th is also an option, a match-up of current 1-loss teams.  But those teams aren't the greatest for ratings.

November 2nd (Oregon @ USC, Utah @ Washington) and November 30th (Notre Dame @ Stanford) are future Saturdays where there are decent Pac-12 games available for ABC to fill that requirement.  November 2nd in particular, days where the entire B1G, ACC and Big XII schedules are absent of high-profile games.

Net net: I'd expect this to be announced as an ABC prime-time game tomorrow when the game-times come out.  I didn't really expect that 1-2 weeks ago, but the situation looks to have changed a bit.

Unless they've changed something this year, the game times won't come out until Tuesday, at the earliest.  They're 6-day and 12-day windows.  (As of last year, anyway, if they wait for the six-day window, the only options are 12 and 3:30; night games require the 12-day notice).

I'm all for the 'big stage' and everything that comes with that, but does anyone else think that the human cliche machines, Fowler & Herbstreit, can be rather grating?

I can hear Fowler right now: "and the Nittany Lions are POURING it ON!"

If we win that game it would be by FAR Harbaugh's best win at Michigan.  And maybe the best win in his coaching career.  Sadly, it probably won't happen that way.  We'll be 7.5 point dogs and we'll lose by 21.
