Michigan linebackers coach Chris Partridge and star defender Jabrill Peppers used a free weekend to give back to the youth of New Jersey, volunteering at the "Game Changers" youth football camp in Waldwick, NJ.

Both coach and player spent the day with youth players, coaching and instructing, but were forced to leave when high school age players arrived, as the NCAA outlawed programs coaching in "satellite camps" on Thursday.

Harbaugh and company should go on a tour of the country to instruct youth this summer.

I would not be surprised if he did that, gives the school some great press, and it would show kids and parents how much he cares about teaching football.

Even better. The kids would get exposure to the staff at an even younger age and fall in love with the program when they are even more impressionable. Soon Harbaugh and co. can start holding camps in maternity wards around the country FTW

Yeah I'm totally kidding about the maternity wards, but youth camps might be a real possibly. Fuck the NCAA in the name of helping kids. There is some potential there for sure. It's just a real long time till you possibly land one of those kids but I'm sure the brand exposure pays dividends in the area. I'm guessing the NCAA couldn't stop the older brothers from watching from the stands.

Since I am not a high school student, can Harbaugh and company come do a camp for me and my fatty friends? It would get parents to fall in love with Harbaugh, live out their Al Bundy dreams of former glory, and be great press for the school. Until my friend has a heart attack...

Strangely enough, part of me thinks that even doing the odd youth camp like this is kind of a fun way to live just to one side of the satellite camp ban, one of many ways they could potentially troll the NCAA a bit.

In all seriousness though, it is cool to see the players get involved in this sort of thing and promote the University by giving back to, in this case, New Jersey football. Part of excelling off the field as well as on it, I would think.

Middle School camps this year. It's all about educating the youth and making the NCAA look like jackasses in the process.

Guys like Partridge and Peppers are going to teach kids the right way to play, rather than kids' first experience being with a nutcase never-was coach who thinks good football breaks bones.

Harbaugh should keep all the dates for the satellite camps and just make it for youth football. This would generate lots of positive press for Michigan. Harbaugh could make a statement that he just loves football and wants to teach kids even if there isn't any direct recruiting involved. The trips would obviously cost the program money but I think it would pay off down the road.

Make the previously schedule satellite camps coaches clinics. This would help Michigan create relationships with schools throughout the country and allow smaller college coaches opportunities to meet those hs coaches and develop relationships to sustain their programs as well.

"Sorry kids, the SEC says that once you hit high school I can't show you how to block properly.  I can totally spam the shit out of you online though.  Get my text?  Here's another 4,000.  Catch you tomorrow!"

Youth camps all over the country spreading the gospel of football, Harbaugh 1:1. In the beginning there was football. And it was good. Thou shalt practice football with an Enthusiasm Unknown to Mankind lest I smite thee. And Harbaugh 2:5. And the NCAA is an abomination before those pure of heart in the brotherhood of football. The fight against those craven sons of goats shall continue until the end of time

"Coaching youth athletics is harmful to both instructor and player." - NCAA Honestly, I'm beginning to think satellite camps were banned not only because of the SEC running the show, but also due to the NCAA unable to cash in.

Harbaugh is currently trying to convince Schlissel to fund University of Michigan at Prattville, Long Beach, Bradenton, and Dallas.

Hopefully, the young talent in New Jersey will go to Michigan when they grow up. Maybe a future Gary,  Peppers, Singleton, Ruiz (he is from New Jersey), or Bolds were at that camp.

Why did Peppers have to leave. He is not an employee of Michigan - right? How can the NCAA stop a student from teaching younger kids? Serious question. Haven't read the whole ruling but I got out of it that coaches/employees could not coach off campus - couldn't players volunteer to work camps across the country? Could Peppers go back to NJ and volunteer at his old high school's summer football camp?

I've read some very interesting ideas here and some warrant real consideration.

1. We should do these camps anyway, because we can't come across as defeated by Ol Boss Hog and his good ol boy cronies. We also gain exposure in those areas starting early, which is what our main goal is

2. I'm like most people here who don't believe this is over by a long shot. I think Harb needs to show the whole world that the NCAA is against youth and charities like Chad Tough. Doing these events anyway (in some fashion) keeps the media involved and rubs their faces in it.

3. I'm sure the people at U of M and Notre Dame and Northwestern can come up with a good legal strategy to get this rule overurned or revised in a way that doesnt hurt the athletes chances of being seen by schools other that in the south.

Partridge & Peppers.... sounds like:

A) An acoustic Country duo.

B) A law firm.

C) A tasty dish consumed in Southern Cultures (aka SEC Country) which in turn gives the eater bad heartburn, excessive bloating, gas and eventual death.

D) All of the Above.

E) None of the Above.
