OT: Which player do you WANT your NFL team to draft tomorrow?

Submitted by All Day on

The NFL draft is finally almost here to put us all out of the misery of the endless mock drafts. Which (realistic) player do you want your team to take tomorrow and why?

Pats fan here too.. Even without a 1st rounder I'm looking forward to the draft. With their day 2 picks I'd like to see them go with Karl Joseph or Vonn Bell and perhaps a replacement for Chandler Jones.. A guy I really want to see them add is Cyrus Jones, day 3 or later. Multi-'position' guy (defense and special teams).

I'm really hoping for Kenneth Dixon in the 2nd round. I think he might end up having the best career of any RB in the draft (Elliot is a monster but he draws too much contact, he'll be cooked in 6 years), he seems like a great dude, and he is a perfect fit for the offense. They can flex him out or run him between the tackles. I know he is a lot like Dion Lewis, but I do not trust Lewis' knee. I'd like Paul Perkins in this spot as well, as more of a traditional, down-hill back.

Obviously I'd also love it if, by some miracle, Sterling Sheperd fell all the way to the mid-second round. I think Cyrus Jones is a great fit too. I also really like Nick Kwiatkowski in the middle, especially with Mayo's retirement. Seems like every year we have mass LB injuries and this kid can play.

I want them to trade with either the Dolphins or the Titans out of the 8 slot and then pick up LaQuon Treadwell (everybody remember him?) and another 2nd round pick either this year or next.

And then trade back into the latter half of the 1st round and get Paxton Lynch or sit tight at 32 and take Cook.  We come out of the draft with that and I'll be happy.

We'll still lose a shit-ton of games.....but I'll be happy until the regular season starts.

NFL draft day in Cleveland = Super Bowl Sunday for everybody else.

I'd also be ok with trading Joe Thomas, staying at 8 and taking Stanley.  I really like Shaq Lawson too.

We are going absolutely nowhere this year and Thomas has earned it.

I would like Nkemdiche at 32 as a 3/4 DE, but I don't think I could handle taking another chance on players with character issues.

Some of my best friends are Browns fans and I can't for the life of me think of why any of you have hope for anything but an abject failure from the Browns front office no matter who's in charge. Sorry, I hope they prove me wrong at some point because they have a lot of loyal fans who deserve to root for a respectable team.

I personally prefer Doctson over Treadwell, but I agree that trading down is the move if possible. UNLESS Myles Jack is available at 8. But I don't see that happening.

I like Kevin Hogan if they're targeting a QB later on. I don't see Lynch or Cook being a starter worthy of a second round pick.

But his throwing mechanics are so terrible I just don't know.  His delivery takes forever and the ball almost reaches his waist before he brings it back up.

I know all the guys with this problem work on their mechanics and they unveil a brand new delivery for scouts before the draft.  But when they're under pressure they will always revert back to what they know.

i see the talent, but am i the only one who sees the words 'character issues!!', and that will only be made worse when he goes from ole miss payroll to the big time payroll?

EDIT:  how did this drop 15 comments?  it was in response to mgrowold's post.  thanks drupal.

Treadwell would be fine but (I hate to say this), Zeke Elliot would be better. Granted he may be gone Before #8. As for trading back into the first to get lynch, that gives me nightmares (their names are Quinn, Weedon and Manziel) of doing just that, in the past.

Chargers pick at three. I'd be happiest with J Ramsey, the DB from FSU, I think. But I'd be happy with Laremy Tunsil, DeForest Buckner, or our old friend Joey Bosa. As long as we don't get some AJ Smith style pick that makes no sense to anyone else. You know, because the pick sucks.

Although it is the Lions and they may very well not do this, I would rather they would on these two units as well in the opening rounds. In the middle rounds, a corner and maybe a backup QB as well or a serviceable TE or RB if there is one around. I admit to some trepidation about the draft because that seems to be part of a Lions fan's makeup, but I am more than willing to give Quinn a shot here to get it at least mostly right (it will take a few drafts of getting it "mostly right", mind you)

Would like to see the Packers get one of those big DTs (Billings, Reed, or Robinson) on the board at 27. Ragland would be great too but probably a bit of a pipe dream. Or you know, if they want to save a d line pick for a little later, I wouldn't mind seeing them take Henry. I was pumped when they drafted Jake Ryan, so this would be kinda like that.

As a Bears fan, I really hope Floyd from Georiga drops to us, other than that, I would be okay with Shaq lawson. I also hope Jordan Howard is around in the Third, after watching him destroy UofM last year, would like to see that from the other side of things.

LaQuan Treadwell? He isn't even the first WR coming off most guys boards. There's a really good chance he's there at 20.

The Baylor WR has a better chance to go in the top 15 than Treadwell.
