David from Wyoming also went undrafted in the NFL draft. You can't cherry pick the seven best undrafted players and make the implication of 'see look, DW is going to be JUST LIKE these other guys'.

I don't think he is trying to make the argument that Warren "is going to be JUST LIKE these other guys."  I think he's just trying to point out that just because he went undrafted doesn't mean that it's a guarantee we won't see him on the field in the future, and as an exaggerated example to prove a point, here are a bunch of guys that succeeded despite going undrafted. [Obvious response complete]

No, the argument is very much being made. If you list only seven successful undrafted players, and not list the thousands and thousands of unsuccessful undrafted players, you've presented the situation in a way that leads the reader to think a certain way. Maybe it wasn't done on purpose, but the effect is the same.

that there are posters here that will allow themselves to  be so easily mislead that they will take that post to mean that Donovan Warren is guaranteed to find the same success in the NFL as the seven players listed?

If that is the case, than reading comprehension is probably the least of their worries.

really put warren moon on that list??? sure he did go undrafted when he came out of school, but he went to the CFL and had a great career which got him a chance in the NFL... people already knew what he was capable of because of what he did in the CFL... the other people on this list were undrafted rookie free agents that got picked up after the draft and had to work their asses off to make the teams they were picked up by...

I think you missed the point. It's not that Moon played elsewhere to prove himself, it's that the NFL didn't view these players as good enough to be drafted after their college careers. Proving youself on a NFL practice squad, the CFL, or the Kurt Warner route of arena football is still proving that you belong in the league.

I agree with your point in general, but Warren Moon is a unique case.  He was pretty decent at Washington and I disagree with the idea that he wasn't good enough to be drafted.   He had to break through a color barrier at QB, at the time black QBs were virtually nonexistant.  Many teams asked Moon if he would switch over to another position, but he refused.  If Warren Moon came out 30 years later, he would have been certainly be drafted, and he probably would have been drafted if he switched positions.

The point was that there are numerous examples of how it can happen.  The argument will be settled soon enough as he will have a chance to make an NFL roster this summer.  If he is not on a team when the season starts the odds really start to work against him ever sticking.  Only at that point will the wisdom of his decision begin to be decided.  Until then hope springs eternal as personified by the above mentioned players.

Let's not forget Vincent Papale of "Invincible" Fame.

I wasn't sure if I should be happy that he was named to the all undrafted team, or sad that there were 255 other people teams liked better than Warren.

There's a stigma with not being drafted, but Warren is going to NYJ now, where his chance to catch on will be no different than if he had been selected in the 7th round.  Here's hoping he works his ass off and makes the best of his opportunity.
