OT: University of Houston president using Twitter as search 'firm' for head coaching vacancy
University of Houston president Renu Khator has taken to Twitter in her quest to fill the Houston head coaching vacancy.
I'm sure the actual process is a bit more formal than this, but it's a fun way to engage the fan base. The most popular response so far has been Ohio State OC Tom Herman.

I'd enjoy Bob Stitt at Houston. Air Raid 2.0 and all that would be a good time.

Supposedly he's a leading candidate for the Montana job. I agree with you though, he'd be a perfect fit at UH.

Montana is an interesting place. They could easily compete at the FBS level... they'd probably contend in the Mountain West easily, in fact. But they're a study in knowing your place in the world and have openly turned down chances to upgrade from the FCS. If Stitt were to go there, he'd likely win very fast and be a candidate for a P5 level job within a few years.
Houston is also an interesting place for him, because they're certainly not a bad team. You could even say they were too hasty in firing Tony Levine. But I'd guess Montana might be a better fit for someone coming from a very low end D2 gig.

You called it. It's maybe a better move for him because if he tears it up at Montana, he'll get a Power 5 offer somewhere.
CU should have offered him their job right now, it's not like McIntyre is an offensive genius.

*Greg Schiano intently scans all tweets hashtagged with things like "UHCoachingSearch"*
In all seriousness, per the Houston Chronicle, Will Muschamp is among those who have in fact already interviewed for the position. That being said, if he was the last interview before they opened it up to Twitter opinions, then poor Will indeed perhaps.
"Thank you, Mr. Muschamp....no, we'll call you. Bye now."
"Yeah, I want you to go see what Twitter thinks. It's not happening right now over here"

Kick in the groin there. Maybe he should have argued for the dunk tank interview.
"If three people with three attempts each can't knock me off this here platform, I get to coach your team."

Imagine if Michigan would have used MGOBLOG back in 2007 for their coaching search. Where would we be now?
Harbaugh?
Les Miles?

if only we had the foresight to hire harbaugh in '07....

Or the integrity to fully support the coach who was hired in 2007.

Is another way of saying, "Don't blame us when this new coach doesn't meet expectations." Just like hiring Hackett as an interim is another way of disposing something quickly and easily (if said hire by said firm is sad or flaccid)

sounds like muschamp could be their guy

Would be perfect for Herman to go to and prove his chops. They have been offensively focused with Briles and Sumlin in the past decade. A good mid major type to go get 3 years of HC experience, and if successful he will be ready for Wisconsin's next head coach search in 2017.

In other news, I was offered the head coaching job at UH today.
I declined.

I'd love to see Hackett do this. All the Harbaugh tweets would be awesome.
