OT: Suggs vs. Bayless
I tend to really dislike the Ravens but this just made me a Suggs fan. Love him for telling Bayless what everyone thinks of him.

I find Bayless to be entertaining, even if I do not agree with anything he says. He is a blowhard, but it is entertaining most of the time. That being said, I damn near spit out my coffee this morning when I heard Suggs say that to him. I had a good laugh over it.

Skip Bayless is a total idiot. On the other hand, his brother Rick is a culinary genius and a super nice guy (based on one chance encounter). Go figure.

Rick also spent time in the UM anthropology program, before leaving academia for culineria.
Um, good choice!

Holy crap, I had no idea they were brothers! For being such a badass chef, Rick comes off as very humble and gracious, which is in direct contrast to his douche bag brother.

maybe Mr. Suggs was technically 'over the line', but I enjoyed it. it was mostly harmless, & probably even true. kinda nice, actually, to see the stream of criticism reversed from the traditional analyst-to-player direction. still, I'd never call anyone a douche bag on TV.

This made my day.

Someone needs to edit that sound bite to fit Dantonio. Be a head coach, don't be a douchebag. Bayless tells Suggs to watch his language? Is that really a curse word? Skip must not watch primetime tv.
January 23rd, 2012 at 1:44 PM ^
Maybe a little too far, but it's always funny to see players break pc when talking to the analysts (who oftentimes can get away with a lot more)
January 23rd, 2012 at 1:48 PM ^
I'm glad someone finally called him out on national tv.
January 23rd, 2012 at 1:53 PM ^
Bayless said he's glad it isn't a Ravens vs 49ers, because he wasn't sure he could deal with Harbaugh vs Harbauh for 2 weeks.
Yes, because that's much worse than 3 months of nothing but Tebow....
January 23rd, 2012 at 2:11 PM ^
+1. I can't believe he would say that when he's been shoving Tebow down our throats the entire year. At least the Harbaugh vs Harbaugh storyling would be one about success that would have actual debate in it. Instead of debating whether somebody is an actual QB

Imagine how great it could have been if wall-to-wall Harbaughs had sent Dkip into hiding.

The idea of Bayless getting pummled by Suggs has a certain appeal to me.
January 23rd, 2012 at 2:03 PM ^
This was great. I can't stand that Bayless intentionally riles things up instead of genuinely having a contrarian or controversial view of something. I've seen him be reasonable on occasion, so when he's the opposite, it really seems forced, which is obnoxious.

The only thing I like about skip is his dislike for lebron.
January 23rd, 2012 at 2:14 PM ^
If we can get someone to say the same thing to Gary danielson, we will be on our way to fixing another of football's issues:
Be an analyst Gary, not a douchebag!
January 23rd, 2012 at 2:29 PM ^
We really need someone to call out Spielman.
January 23rd, 2012 at 11:56 PM ^
"Be an analyst, Craig, not a murderer!

How out of shape is the guy recording this? He either has porn up on another screen or is doing a great job of muffling the crunch of Doritos while his fat butt is recording this. How out of shape do you have to be when holding a video camera or cell phone up for 3 minutes makes you out of breath

Skip's style makes him entertaining to some and infuriating to others. It is great when an athlete puts him in his place by reminding him that he is overstepping his bounds as a "journalilst."
Suggs probably just won himself a TV job as soon as he retires.
January 23rd, 2012 at 5:46 PM ^
It's so clearly an act by Skip Bayless. The Tebow mania was an act. I have a hard time believing that he really thinks Tebow is as good as he says he is. The Suggs things was a fun bit of competition between player and "analyst" (put the quotes there because I can't in good consious actually call Skip a real sports analyst).
However, Skip was an idiot today for continuing the attack on Suggs, a guy who just lost a chance at a Super Bowl on a missed field goal. He didn't need to go there, and hey guess what...you reap what you sow. Being called a dbag on the air by an NFL player that I thought was in on the act but now I think genuinely hates you.
January 23rd, 2012 at 6:37 PM ^
Just perfect. I can't stand Bayless.
January 23rd, 2012 at 6:50 PM ^
Suggs let him off easy. I mean, he could have called him a "dutch".
January 23rd, 2012 at 7:33 PM ^
Even if ESPN wanted him to apologize for using the word douchebag on TV, Suggs wouldn't do it. Ball so hard.
January 23rd, 2012 at 9:13 PM ^
Skip Bayless is a pussy. Both he and Dan Lebatard need to be beaten with shovels.
January 23rd, 2012 at 9:34 PM ^
I despise the Ravens, but this was *awesome*. If Suggs had an MGoAccount, I think he'd need to be immediately awarded 10,000 points.
January 23rd, 2012 at 9:40 PM ^
Bayless is a douche?
January 24th, 2012 at 12:58 PM ^
that was funny
