Yeah, he was.  Very savvy trade by Bobby Heenen.  He basically gave up Adonis and a draft pick for a guy who featured in the most televised Saturday Night Main Event of all time and was in the main event at WrestleMania 2.

Man, Heenen absolutely owned Jimmy Hart.

I'm getting scared to check the news feed each day.  It seems like my childhood dies a little everday.   I was so pumped to see Ric Flair make it to 70 last week.

He was still alive? I thought this was another one of those posts about someone who died years ago.

I lived King Kong Bundy in Stir Crazy with Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor.

As a kid, I remember going to the old Stadium Arena in Grand Rapids to watch World Championship Wrestling.  We saw all of the stars, but King Kong Bundy was one of the scariest guys.  He was absolutely huge!  61 is just to soon.  RIP.

He was the inspiration for the "Married ... With Children" family being named Bundy. And in one of the show's later seasons he guest starred in an episode.

Summer of 1999 or 2000, Tempe, Az, my phone rings and it’s a buddy from Michigan.  He says he has landed a gig working security at a wrestling match in Laughlin, Nevada, I don’t remember how or why, and he wants to come hang out in AZ for a few days before the match.  He invites my brother and me along and we all end up working security and go roam just about anywhere we want to.  The star of the show, King Kong Bundy!  He hurt his knee about 30 seconds into the match and it ended quickly but it’s just one of those random stories I’ll never forget.

His name is Chris Pallies, my nephew went to school with his brother, also a high school and college wrestler from Southern New Jersey.  I was on a flight from San Francisco to Philadelphia with him in the mid 80's.  Luckily he paid for 2 seats, he was running about 450 at the time.

My wife and I were in the same Chinese All you can eat Buffet restaurant in Baton Rough, LA in the Spring of 83 with KKB.   He was and still is the largest man we have ever seen.  And boy could he pound down the food.   He had at least 8-10 plates in front of him all the time and he ate and ate and ate for what seemed like forever.  He was there with other wrestlers but he stood out.   We stayed a bit after we finished just to watch him eat.  It was a truly amazing experience, never knew a man could eat so much in one sitting.
