Louisville is not getting the death penalty. The NCAA has stopped just short of directly saying they will never institute that penalty ever again.

If they didn't give Penn State the death penalty for covering up child rape, and if they didn't give it to Baylor for committing essentially the same atrocities to protect its football program, they're not giving it to Louisville. While what Louisville did is pretty bad, it is nowhere close to being as atrocious as what those two schools committed.

Seriously, has any school consistently given off more sleaze vibes than Louisville - a school that "suddenly" became a football powerhouse? For years, Louisville has seemed like a ticking timebomb - the UNLV or Miami of today.

Always found it quite ironic that arguably the biggest scumbag in college football (Petrino) and arguably the biggest scumbag in college basketball (Pitino) both found themselves at the same school at the same time.

I have to believe that even though Petrino was given a second chance, that he still has shady shit going on there. He's a great coach, but people like him never change.

The irony of this all is that ESPN will be knocking down the door trying to hire that lying, cheating, scumbag as an Analyst for their network.

He got canned at Tenn for cheating, sat out during show-cause, hired at Auburn, and one of his assistants is wrapped up in it too. I hope this is like a honeypot that catches most of the dirty programs.

It does not mean Michigan gets to claim it, just as OSU's vacating the 2010 season doesn't mean Michigan RR can claim a victory.

It's pathetic, because that team should have beatem them anyways...

Pitino is a scuzzball.

He thought he was hot stuff in college, then got schooled in the NBA and came running back in shame.  I guess he couldn't handle playing on a level field

Then comes slithering back to college where he knew he could stack the deck in his favor.  Throw the book at him, and then reserve a place for him in the special circle in hell for cynical cheaters.

Pitino, 65, released a statement after news of the charges was announced Tuesday, saying: "These allegations come as a complete shock to me."

What he meant was, "the fact that I got caught comes as a complete shock to me."

Looking at a UL board today makes me wonder if all lil bro schools suffer from being delusional.  They're freaking out about the AD geeting axed.

The hooker scandal had nothing at all to do with Jurich. Posted by cardsinindy2010 on Sep 27, 2017 | 11:11 AM Jurich wasn't involved in keeping Pitino after the hooker scandal? Posted by KCCards on Sep 27, 2017 | 11:15 AM Supported him 100% Posted by RMacfan1 on Sep 27, 2017 | 11:16 AM Crazy. Posted by KCCards on Sep 27, 2017 | 11:17 AM As he should have. "Supported him" (meaning Pitino) "100%" "as he should have". Holy crap!

I didn't scroll through all of the comments here but a local news outlet here in Louisville is reporting that Adidas hired Tom Jurich's daughter just months before the $160 million apparel deal. I can't link here via mobile but if you go to www.wdrb.com , there is a link on their front page. The plot thickens.

He'll be fired in 9 days. They just have to give him a notice per his contract. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. And if we're lucky, he will be blacklisted from ever coaching again. In college and the pros.
