OT: Polynesian Bowl

Submitted by Bo Schemheckler on
A week from today will be the first High school all american Polynesian bowl game. It is based in Hawaii and features a ton of top high school talent. Looking at the roster it also features players that already played in the US or Army AA games like Dylan Mccaffrey and Chuck Filiaga and also kids that are already enrolled at a university like our very own CMH and Tua Tagovailoa. Does anyone know how it's possible to play in multiple AA games and to play in a high school game when already enrolled at a college?

There's a ridiculous amount of talent in this game for it to not be on a regualr ESPN channel, especially since it's the offseason now. There are 34 four or five star players playing in the game. In terms of Michigan interest there's:

Nico Collins

Chuck Filiaga

Corey Malone-Hatcher

Dylan McCaffrey

Phil Paea

Josh Ross

Kurt Taylor

Jay Tufele

And a few others that we have shown interest in or may kick the tires on.

As soon as this thread was posted it was only a matter of time before someone threw out the "I hope no one gets hurt"... We started with not playing in bowl games to not get hurt and now we're onto not playing in a high school showcase game either not to get hurt. We probably should not practice to not get hurt....working out looks like you could hurt yourself....I miss the old days...GET OFF MY LAWN!!! Man it up a little

Don't ever get out of bed, you could die.

I want guys on my team that love the game so much that they take every opportunity they are alotted to play it. Dylan McCaffrey just played in the most prestigious HS AA game a week ago and is now flying to Hawaii to play in a no-name game. Just because he loves playing ball. I KNOW he's gonna be a great QB here.

Thank you for being the voice of reason sir....If you play to just get by and stay healthy you probably cheat yourself more than the paying fans. Anytime you have a chance to play this great game at a high level...Take it. Bask in the memories and friendships later and regret nothing...AKA Jake Butt
